Innocence
Chap. 1 If Wishes Were Fishes
Kay, first transformers fanfic, all though it may sound a little corny right now, I promise it'll get better! Oh, and not all information may be correct! I've only seen Generation 1 (season 1 and 2), a bit of Armada, the old Transformers movie and the new one, which this story is based off. Now read! And don't forget to review! And, sadly, I own nothing
No, nope… I must be seeing things… Giant robots… Impossible. I open up my eyes, praying they'd be gone. Damnit! I'm not seeing things, they're definitely there…
That was me, Jade Artemius, 5 months ago. I'd just seen four giant robots, autobots, I'd learn later…
Before I tell you my story, let me tell you a little about myself. Just some details to let you know who I am. See, the only reason I'm here is because of what happened in third grade. I was chosen to be the lead role in the annual school play, well, the third grade annual school play. My music teacher worked with me constantly telling me I was born to perform. Well, I mean, she said it to everybody, but I took it to heart and, practiced my little 8 year old butt off. My act really was perfect, for a third grader. And then, the night of the performance, my mother never came home. She just never opened the front door…
It was a drunken driver. He hit her on her way the home from work at the four-way intersection. Crushed my mother's car and killed her instantly… I never made it to my play, never got to show off all my hard work. So, without my mother, I was sent to my father's home. My parents were divorced and my mother had custody of me at the time. My mother had custody of me because she could hold down a job for more then a year. My mother had custody of me because she wasn't constantly in jail for DUI and bar fights. My mother had custody of me, because my mother wasn't the drunken loser… my father was. So, I've been in every school play since then. Only made it to about half of them, I only made the last one because I drove myself… my father never gets home until about ten at night… drunk, of course. Sometimes he never gets home at all, after being sent to jail for reasons mentioned previously.
And then, when I was about fourteen, he started hitting me. Nothing serious however, he blamed me for all his problems. Blamed me for his and my mother's divorce, and for my mother's… absence. And, sometimes I believed him, I mean, it was my fault she was rushing home that night. If she wasn't rushing, maybe she would've seen him coming… maybe not… but I've moved past that now and here I am, not even really human anymore… How did I become 'not-human?' well, why don't you read my story to find out?
"Jade! What are you doing?" Ms. Nikols screeched. Oh yes, she was the screeching kind of teacher. Just the kind of person you love to piss off…
"Ms. Nikols, I believe I was picking up my pencil," I was, but how it got all the way across the room… I walked back to my seat, thinking of ways to anger her. I was having a bad day anyway… minus well make her miserable too, right?
Oh, wrong thing to do. Damn. "And I believe you will be spending detention with me at lunch," she said squinting at me. She was the old lady teacher who hated everyone and everything, except homework and detentions. Trent Abrams snickered in the front row, right behind the overhead, the place where the trouble makers sit. "Would you like to join Jade, Trent?" she asked glaring down at him.
"Nooope," he said. Sigh, I really was having a bad day…
My friend who was sitting next to me, Mikaela, whispered to me, "I'll be here at lunch, too, at least. I have to make up that quiz." I smiled at her. Detentions, Ms. Nikols detentions more precisely, were much better if you had someone to bear the burden with.
And, about half an hour later, the bell rang for lunch. I sighed again, it was going to be a long day…
And, about three hours later, another bell rang to signal the end of the day. And, it was Friday. Ah, Fridays… I love 'em, don't you? Smiling, I met up with Mikaela and her boyfriend, Sam… Witwickity? Something like that. How they hooked up, I'll never know, but they're happy together, and that's what counts. I wish I could get a boyfriend… Alas, if wishes were fishes the sea would be full… They just got back from a three week long 'vacation,' but anyone with brains could tell they didn't go on any 'vacation.'
Ah, that car of his. I hated him for it. Well, I love Sam like a brother, I've known him since I moved here and I didn't live far from him… But, I love cars, and a yellow '09 Chevy Camaro, with racing stripes (I'm a Chevy girl, and I love cars, but I'm stuck with a red '00 Chevy Cavalier. Well, at least it's not scratched or dented. Count your blessings) was just the thing to make me jealous. Real jealous.
"Jade? Hello? You still in there?" Mikaela said. Waving her hands in front of my face…
"Er, yeah? What'd I miss?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
Oh, I never told you what I look like did I? Well, I have raven-black hair that reaches my shoulder blades, and, because it's in style (and I think it looks coolie-o), the hair that frames my face is dyed deep red. I hate putting my hair up (I can't make my pin-straight hair do anything! Sam and Mikaela think it's funny I yell at my own hair. Not that I blame them, I'd laugh at me too), so it's almost always down and, yes, sometimes it gets in my face and I've been called 'goth' before. I'm not sure why people find that insulting, I have many 'goth' friends, and I don't have a problem with any of them. I have the brightest green eyes you will ever see, a small nose, 'hesitant lips' as they've been called before, and a stubborn chin to match my personality. I'm tall for my age, being 5 feet 11 inches, and slender so I can fit into all those Hollister outfits that are also in style.
"Sam and I," she points at herself and Sam, making fun of my lack of attention. I stick my tongue out at her (childish I know, but it gets the point across, doesn't it?). "Want to know if you'd like to go to the lake with us. It's hot and it's Friday." She tilts her head up at the sun, and squints, emphasizing her point.
"I can't, I need to-" study, I was about to say, but I didn't really. I just wanted to hide my bruises…
"Jade, don't tell me you need to study," I think she can read minds! Wait, no, that's always my excuse… "You can study during the weekend. Right now, we're kid-napping you and you're joining us at the lake!"
"But, I-!" Ack, interrupted again.
"No ifs, ands or buts about it, your coming!" Sam said opening his car's door, wait, no, how'd that door open? Sam's right next to me…? Must be seeing things… Mikaela grabbed my arms and Sam pushed me into his Camaro.
"Idon'thaveabathingsuit!" I managed to spit out, maybe they'd let me go if I wasn't prepared? No such luck. Sam and Mikaela climbed into their appropriate seats, and Mikaela informed me she had an extra one-piece suit I could borrow. Well, that's better then a bikini or something…
"Fine, I surrender," I sighed. They're just as stubborn as I am… They laughed at my surrender and Sam turned on the radio… Well, I think he did, although I never saw him reach over… Soak Up the Sun by Sheryl Crowe started playing.
Ah, The Lake. That's what everyone calls it, just 'The Lake.' It's the only nearby lake, so I'm surprised when we find no one is there on a hot, Friday afternoon, as Mikaela pointed out earlier.
Sam goes around back of his car, pops the trunk and takes out a red and blue bikini, which he tosses to Mikaela. She runs over into the nearby brush to change. He takes out a silver and pink one piece, which he tosses to me. I looked around and saw a secluded wooded area and proceeded with trading my Aerpostale clothing for the pink and silver striped one piece. The straps cross my back and make a large 'X.' The suit's a little tight, but I am a few inches taller then Mikaela, so I guess that's to be expected.
I come out of my little hiding spot and toss my clothes on the back of Sam's Camaro. I sigh, I really would like to have a nicer car… I walk over to the lake, and test the temperature with a foot. Damn! That water is cold! I jumped back, not wanting to get in that water.
Mikaela was already in the water, and she was laughing at me. "Just get in, you won't feel it once you're in it!" she says… that's what everyone says, and they're always wrong…
But I slowly wade into the lake, anyway. Sam runs out over from the highest part of the lake and yells "Cannonball!" And proceeds to do just that. He barely makes a splash and Mikaela and I burst out laughing. He rises to the surface with his hair over his eyes, and glares at us. Oh, he's horrible at glares, horrible! So, it just makes us laugh harder.
He begins to splash us. We both yelp, that water is cold! "Oh, no you didn't!" I yell at him, and thus, the 'splash-war' began. Mikaela and me against one Sam… Witticky? I'm never going to get his name… Oh well, he just splashed me in the face with that ice water so I'm going to get him, last name or not. I dive under water, hoping to make a surprise attack, and hold my breath for as long as possible. The waters not entirely clear, so I didn't notice that Sam and Mikaela got out. When I came back up I heard:
"No, someone else is here, you've got to go!" that was Sam… Who was he talking to? Surely not yelling at Mikaela…
"I don't see anyone…" an older guy was speaking, but I didn't recognize who… he had a deep, velvety voice.
"I think Sam wants to be alone with Mikaela…" another guy said, humor was in his voice and multiple men started laughing at that. I swim over out from behind the high part where Sam attempted his 'cannonball.' The sight I see will change my life forever. As I tell you this story, I mentally sigh.
"Nope, someone else is here, Prime. You really should g-" a giant yellow and black… robot? saw me and stopped speaking. I shifted my eyes and saw three other giant robots.
I think if my eyes were open any wider, they would have fallen out… I must've resembled a fish with wide unblinking eyes and a large gaping hole for a mouth.
The largest robot addressed me, "Um, well, it's nice to meet some of Sam's other friends." Right, must've passed out while under water… I squeezed my eyes tight, so tight actually, you start seeing white dots. I'll wake up and I'll tell this story to Sam and Mikaela and they'll laugh at me. No, nope… I must be seeing things… Giant robots… Impossible. I open up my eyes, praying they'd be gone. Damnit! I'm not seeing things, they're definitely there…
"I assure you, Megatron is dead! I saw him fall with my own optics!" that was Starscream. There were murmurs in the room, none of them sounding the least bit pleased. "As his second-in-command I-" one of the other Decepticons, Sideways, interrupted him.
"What about the All-Spark? Did you get it?" he asked, the horns that adorned his forehead gleamed menacingly. The other Decepticons that were in the giant room, looked to Starscream for confirmation that the artifact was, in fact, safe.
"No, you imbecile, as I told you before, one of the planets flesh-bag natives used it to destroy Megatron! Now, as I was saying before I was -" one of the smaller Decepticons interrupted again.
"What of the others?" she asked, it was Thunderblast, one of the only living femmes left. "There was Bonecrusher with you, Barricade and Frenzy, too."
Starscream glared at her, his red optics deadly. "Bonecrusher and Frenzy are dead. I do not know of Barricade's fate." He looked around the room and hissed, daring any of them to interrupt again. "As Megatron's second-in-command, I assume his position as Leader of the Decepticons. I am now Lord Starscream."
Kay, tell the truth, how bad was it? Review please! You know you want to! Please, no flamers but helpful criticism (note the word helpful) is always welcome! Hope you enjoyed, Jade, out! xD
