The Yearly 365 Challenge
Prompt #88 (Word) Breeze
"What is it that you want?" He folded his arms across his tighten chest.
"I just came to see how you are doing." She sighed as she stepped closer to him.
Growling low in his throat.
She paused. "You should know by now that won't stop me." She took another step forward. She stopped as she stood in front of him. "So how are you doing?"
"Just breezy." He waved his right hand airy with wide eyes. "How do you think I am?" He demanded as he felt his chest tighten even more. "You should go. You have no reason on being here."
Sighing deeply. "Chic I have every right to be here."
"Just leave." His eyes narrowed. "I never want to see you ever again."
A sly smirk played on her thin lips. "You can't get rid of me that easily Chic. I know the truth after all." Her eyes narrowed as ice covered her deep hazel eyes. "I know that you killed Charles Smith and you are …."
Chic reached out and gripped her arms in between his arms. Pulling her tightly into his hard thin chest. "If you even dare think of blackmailing me … then baby you have no idea of what you will be getting into." He hissed low in her. "You know fully whom I am … the lengths I will go to improve my life. But baby you have no idea of the people whom I am surrpounded by here in Riverdale … the town full of PEP."
"You will do what I say and when I say Chic." She hissed back.
He pulled her away from him; but keeping his hands firmly on her arms. "Don't say that I didn't warn you baby." He husked out. His eyes were steel as they stared into her uncompassioning eyes. "Don't stay in Riverdale or Greendale."
"I'm not letting you away from me Chic." She rolled her eyes.
"There are other towns surrounding Riverdale; baby … just not here and not Greendale. I'm actually honesty trying to keep you safe here." Chic let her right arm go. "How much money and when."
"I'll let you know." She nodded now that he was playing ball. "Don't worry Chic I won't ask too much at a time. If you keep informing me on a regular bases then you won't have to worry too much on the money front."
His eyes grew weary. "What are you after Opal?"
"I was in love with Charles. I want to know if his family was worth his time is all." Her breath hitched. "I all ready did a background reseach on Alice Smith Cooper … and with her husband Hal Cooper behind bars for being the Black Mask. I'm glad that Charles isn't alive to see this. To be hurt by this. I want you to get closer to Charles's father; FP Jones … I want to know if FP would have been a great father towards Charles or not."
Chic felt raw pain in his chest at the thought of the life that he ended in a rash of paniced anger. "Okay." He nodded. "But I'm telling you Opal it's not safe for you in Riverdale or Greendale. I don't care you remain in Ohio … just not those two places."
Opal nodded. "Okay. I want to know all about Charles's siblings." She softly smiled. "I hear that he has a baby nephew and niece."
"Yeah." Chic husked out.
Opal noticed how soft and slightly fearful Chic's face went at the thought of the Cooper-Blossom twins. "We can help protect the innocents." She sighed as she throught of the past in the streets. "Charles would want you and I to help protect his family for him."
Chic nodded. "Yeah he would."
Opal tearfully smiled. "Okay then." She nodded as she turned and walked out of the wearhouse. She had to find a town near Riverdale but away from Greendale to settle in.
