This is my first fanfiction- hope you like it!
FANG POV
I love Max. I love nearly everything about her. She is my world. I just wished that she knew that. Iggy knows that I love her, I couldn't hold it in any longer, and he has been pushing me to do something about it. I don't know what yet, but I do know that it has to be drastic because I don't know how long I can last without Max knowing my feelings for her.
The Flock was still on the run and we decided to camp out in a forest until further notice. Max was out with the girls bathing in the nearby stream, and Gazzy was taking a quick nap before we hit the road again. For the time being, it was just Iggy and I, and I dreaded the questions Iggy was going to ask me.
"So, Fang" Iggy said.
"What?" I growled, probably more than was necessary.
"Whatcha gonna do about Max?"
I sighed. "I don't know, man. I'm so confused."
Iggy smirked and said something that I knew I should kill him for, but brought so much joy to me.
"Angel read Max's mind and she really likes you Fang. You should go for it. Now"
What? Max actually likes me back? Now I've actually gotta do something, and fast. I nodded and walked away, trying to clear my head and trying to figure out how the hell I was gonna do this.
MAX POV
The girls and I got back from our bath in the stream and had a delicious dinner made by the best on-the-run blind cook, Iggy. The kids were laying their sleeping bags down and Fang, Iggy, and I were choosing watch times. I took first, Iggy took last, and Fang took second- like always. Sigh, he always has to be the hero, doesn't he?
Once the kids were all asleep, I sat down and listened. All of a sudden, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I whirled around to find Fang, smirking at my jumpiness.
"What?!" I whispered/yelled.
"Come with me" he said, nodding at Iggy to take my watch.
I walked with him into a clearing just about 2 minutes north of where we were camped out. He grabbed my hand and without even saying anything, told me to lie down on the ground. When we were both on the ground, he said, "Look up Max." And I did.
I saw the most amazing view of the stars. I had slept outdoors and seen the stars before, but this was different. I can't explain it- it just was. Then I realized that I still was holding onto Fang's hand. I blushed and turned my head towards him. He turned back and smiled that Fang-like smile that always made me stop breathing and my stomach flip upside down.
"Ain't it pretty," Fang said, shockingly saying 'pretty'.
"Yeah I guess," I answered. "But is there another reason why you brought me out here?"
"Yeah," he said. "For this."
Before I started to yell at him for not directly telling me, he rolled towards me and kissed me. My mind went blank and I kissed him back. It felt so good and I didn't ever want to stop.
