Heya peeps. Doglover here. I had this in my head for a while now and figured I'd give it a go. If you don't like it just let me know and if you have suggestions let me know. It is not proof read and I could use a beta reader. No promises for finishing this but I am definitely interested in it. Thanks so much and please read on and comment. Constructive criticism.
A little info for beforehand to help the story make a little sense:
Name: Alexa Travers
Background: Daughter of an abusive human mom and fallen archangel Lucifer. Lucifer visited her in dreams and took care of her in his own special way. She loves him but disagrees with how he does things and it eventually changes his views on humanity. She was taught how to hunt since the age of 10, when her friend's uncle moves in down the road. She meets Hardwire, Red Alert, and Barricade and they all become a family, using holoform to get jobs and live as humans. Her mother is possessed by a demon and the four hunters get rid of the demon and move to Tranquility, Nevada.
*Because of her Angel background, Alex is able to form a bond with the three cybertronians despite her not having a spark. She is also able to give them the ability to condense their bipedal forms into a human body. Please don't question it. The story doesn't make sense without it.* Thank you.
Before time began, there was the cube. We know not where it comes from, only that it holds the power to create worlds and fill them with life. That is how our race was born. For a time, we lived in harmony, but like all great power, some wanted it for good, others for evil. And so began the war, a war that ravaged our planet until it was consumed by death, and the cube was lost to the far reaches of space. We scattered across the galaxy, hoping to find it and rebuild our home, searching every star, every world. And just when all hope seemed lost, message of a new discovery drew us o an unknown planet called Earth. But we were already too late.
Prologue
"Mom?" I paused and listened, paying close attention in order to hear any minute possible noise. As soon as I was sure there was no one coming, I motioned for my three followers to come in behind me.
The first one through the door was tall, at least six feet tall, with dirty blonde hair and red eyes covered by white framed sunglasses, tinted so you couldn't see his eyes. He wore faded blue jeans and a black Metallica t-shirt. This was Hardwire, a cybertronian from space, whose mother was decepticon. He was raised as a con but shared the views of the autobots. In his holoform he went by Michael Parks.
Closely following was a similarly tall, black haired man with a pale complexion. His crimson eyes, only a few shades darker than the first man's and, unlike the first, was not concealed by any glasses. He wore black jeans and a black leather jacket. This was Barricade, a young ex-decepticon around Hardwire's age. In his holoform he was known as Cade Parks.
The third silently shut the door with no more than a soft click of the latch. He was short, standing at only five foot seven – slightly taller than me – with brown hair and striking blue eyes that almost seemed to glow in the dim light of the house. He wore a pair of light blue jeans and a simple red t-shirt and a grey button up shirt. This was Red Alert, an autobot who landed and joined our small gang. Despite the opposing sides, the three bonded quickly. His holoform was known as Matthew Travers.
My own five-foot three stature was dressed in ripped jeans, an avengers sweatshirt, and boots. My dirty blonde and brown streaked hair was pulled back into a pony tail and my blue grey eyes were scanning for any movement in the small house. I rolled my shoulders, shaking out my wings and rearranging my feathers. A tingling feeling ran up my spine as one of them went through one of my companions. Even after growing up with them, it still surprised me when no normal human – or cybertronian in their case – could see my wings.
We slowly ascended the stairs and stopped by the closed master bedroom door. I paused for a moment and took a deep breath. I may not have liked my mom, but I wouldn't wish this fate on anyone. Leaning against the doorframe, I steadied my shaking hands and closed my eyes. Gripping the ancient looking knife tight in my grip, I swung open the door and the four of us poured in. My mother stood in the center of her room staring at the wall. When we stopped, surrounding her in a circle, she lifted her gaze to stare at me.
I felt cold wash down my neck and she smiled inhumanly. "You know what, Alex? After all these years I never knew who your father was. I always assumed he was a no-good man, maybe someone who ditched their family. Then I realized – "She sneered and stepped closer. "You already knew him. He would visit you every day of the fifteen years I've raised you. You visited him in your sleep."
"Mom." I was nervous. Demons fed off the hatred and anger of their host and my mom was never my biggest fan. "Please."
She laughed. "You could've told me." She stepped next to me and ran her hand through my hair. My knees shook as I felt her cold breath on my neck. "you could have told me that your father was the Lucifer. That you were even more of a freak than I thought."
I pulled my wings in tight and they shivered as she continued. "You do realize that this is your mother speaking. Sure, I'm in control, but your sweet mother agrees with everything I'm saying."
Red made to step forward, but I stopped him with a glance. "Your mother is asking – begging – me to help her, to finish you." The demon's hand froze. "I'm going to grant her command."
She reached to grab my throat, but before she could reach, I had taken my knife to her chest. A dark cloud of black smoke exited via her mouth and my mom's body crumbled to the floor next to me. Cade sheathed his gun and grabbed her body, disappearing from the room. Hardwire took my knife from my hand gently and set it to the side. Red grabbed my bag from my room and I heard the roar of his red 1999 corvette alt mode come around to the front of the house. I saw his lips moving but I was numb. My body was vibrating. Hardwire, the concerned big brother he was, hefted me into his arms and we made our way to the front door. We couldn't be around when the police showed.
As Hardwire's GMC Sierra alt and Barricade's mustang circled around to sit by Red Alert, my mind clouded with black and I slipped away from consciousness, dimly aware as I laid my head on Wire's shoulder.
I trusted that they would get us out of here. Somewhere where we could live, and I could go to school. Somewhere we could continue our hunting career and I could practice my angelic abilities. For now, though, my three adopted older brothers could deal with it. I was tired, and the stress and anxiety was catching up to me.
It had been a long day.
