There was a strong buzzing ringing throughout my head as I registered the scene before me. Everything was in ruins, corpses lay around my feet, explosions and screams could be heard all around. My feet were soaked in the pool of blood accompanying the corpses. Strangely, I felt no fear.
"Tiashe! Frai!" A familiar voice screamed desperately.
I looked towards my hand which had been throbbing. A pink glowing orb with rings of gold was embedded into the back of my hand. Looking up from my hand, I saw a boy. He looked to be 5 at most. He also had an orb but it glowed an ominous red. Was this child perhaps the Tiashe that voice called?
"Mistress," a voice called from within the orb.
I was confused from the origin of the voice but my voice found itself before I could figure out what was happening.
"I want to fight with everyone! Until the very end!"
"Understood."
Right after I shouted back to the voice, the very same voice reported that Raphael's attack was incoming.
Almost automatically, I turned to the boy next to me and spoke, "Tiashe, hold my hand! Mikhail and Laciel can shield the people!"
His jade-green eyes look at me trustingly. With a firm nod, we held hands. Warmth spread through my palms. The heat was strong but it wasn't hurting him nor myself. Black wings burst out from his back in a bloody mess as his eyes turn blood red. The skin of my back stretched and burst out to reveal white wings with the tips covered in blood. As painful as it looked, there was barely any pain.
Before I could even register what happened next, a blinding white light flooded the area.
I jolted awake in cold sweat. What could this dream mean? Who was Tiashe? What was even happening? So many questions yet no visible answers within sight.
It had only been two days since the arrest and escape of Cadet Teito Klein. We were somewhat close thanks to Mikage. Teito performed excellently against the criminal despite being too soft so to see him defy the superiors and escape was a surprise since he was under the care of the Chairman. The time we interacted with each other was brief but I did cherish it. It was somewhat nostalgic every time our eyes met.
Allowing myself a sigh of frustration, I suited up and left my room. Today is the day we would be allocated into our Begleiter duties.
Author's note: It's been a good 3 or 4 years since I wrote this and good lord was it cringe. This first chapter is short and sweet but it will be the start of the revamp and I hope the story will be as good as it seemed to be from the start. Thank you for all the support, I hope the story will play out well for all you readers!
