I sat in the library, as usual, on a stool over near the window ledge. I stared forcefully at the sheet of paper in front of me, trying my hardest to make the runes in front of me turn to letters in my mind. Sighing, I pushed the offending material back into my schoolbag. Looking over towards the fireplace, I spotted Luna sitting in the chintz loveseat closest to the fire. I scrunched my brow as I looked at her lovely porcelain face, those elegant hands with the tapered digits clutching her book...I suddenly noticed that I was rubbing my neck in feather-light circles, arousing myself further. Biting my lip softly, I packed my things up and went to sit next to her.
"Hey,Luna.." said faintly once i was sitting next to her. "Care if I sit here?" She shook her head vigoruosly."Why hello Hermione! No,make yourself comfortable!" She turned to face me more directly, closing her book, but keeping her page with one of her delicate fingers. On closer inspection, her book was entitled "How To Survive a Nargle Attack". She leaned close to me, so close that our lips were almost touching and I could feel the warmth radiating from them... my face flushed and I jerked my head backwards. "Luna!? W-What was that about?!" She smiled at me again, her clear face shining with a radiant white smile. "You looked rather odd, Hermione. Are you feeling ill?" She leaned in again, this time our lips were only about a centimeter apart...oh how I wished that I would have the courage to close that gap!
It was rather a surprise to me that I would be attracted to Luna. She and I were polar opposites. I was rational and logical, always seeking the facts, while she floated through life as if unaffected.I envied that about her. She was, in most ways, what I had always longed to be. She didn't seem to care about anyone or anything, except the iron bond she had with her friends. And she was also very smart, even in her unaffected, carefree way.
Sighing, i drew my head away from her luscious lips. "Thanks for your concern, Luna, it means a lot to me. But no, I'm fine." Luna tilted her head to the side, looking puzzled. that action alone was enough to set off a throb of want all throughout my body."Are you sure, "Mionie? Your face is all flushed, and your eyes are dilated..." Reaching up with one of her elfen-like hands, she placed the back of her hand on my forehead. Her hand was pleasantly cool to the touch."Well, you seem fine to me!"
She turned back to her book, and continued reading. Blushing wildly, i chose one of the many books I always had in my schoolbag and continued reading from where I had left off.
