Elsa hugged the ice that was once her warm, loving sister. She had done it again. She had hurt her sister. And this time, there was nothing anyone could do. She felt her shoulders shake uncontrollably. Her entire life was shattering and her mind could not comprehend what had taken place, so she simply cried.

Anger.

Fear.

Sadness.

Hatred.

She could not conceal this, even if she tried. She didn't want to. It was like she was plunged into frozen water, only the water was not physical. She could not breathe; her lungs seemed to collapse, while her legs did the same, unable to support her. She clung to the ice that was her Anna, hoping against hope that her devotion now would, somehow, make up for the way she failed to protect her when she was here. Really here. She clung to her Anna because if she didn't, if she didn't have her arms wrapped tightly around her sister, keeping her together, Elsa was sure she herself would shatter.

There was nothing in her mind, body, or soul that she could control. Her breath was shallow and her brain was getting either not enough oxygen or far too much. With her eyes shut, she felt her mind going strangely blank, everything seemed far away, as if she had actually been plunged into water. Her senses began to numb. Just as she thought was going to lose consciousness, something happened. There was just a touch of warmth on her skin. Elsa did not notice as the warmth spread throughout Anna's body.

Elsa's body fell a few inches towards the ground, and she felt the ice under her arms give way and become her Anna's skin. Elsa glanced up to Anna's pink face. Not blue. Not ice. Anna's living face. And her heart leapt. "Anna?" Her legs gained their strength back and stood and properly wrapped her arms around her sister. Her mind was going a million miles per hour, but she let one fact envelop her entire being: Her Anna was alive and safe.
