Falling Asleep
Suddenly, world is falling apart. Blast of blue and red blur his thoughts, his mind. His heart. The world crumples and pain ripples through his body. It sticks just like the honey on his mouth. He tumbles towards Alterina, his body crashes on the solid earth. His mind shuts down and he blacks out.
He's a young boy once more, innocent and small. He is at a friend's house, or least they are in the area surrounding her hives. A tiny bird sings a love song, nearby he starts running, his friend literally skipping right behind him. Her skirt breezes in the wind. For whatever reason, he starts to reach for the bird, but he is too small.
She giggles and teases him, "You silly boy, Sollux!" He rocks back on his heels and similes. A mustard, yellow blush surfaces on his cheeks. She grabs his hand and starts running around in no apparent pattern. He doesn't understand what he is feeling but he understands that this is the best day ever. The bird flies higher and higher in circles around them. It is too high to catch but he doesn't honestly care. They roll down a hill landing on their backs next to one and another. He reaches for her hand and holds it tight. They close their eyes, and they fall asleep right there.
Or in his case, wake up. A chill run through the air. A bird sings a song on a fallen branch next to him. She is mocking him quietly; mutter a happy song, as if she is happy that he caused such massive destruction. He shivers at the sound. He didn't hurt anyone did he? The worst part is he doesn't remember.
Around him a hive lays dead and a dotted trail of rose colored liquid is sprayed in an eerily familiar place. His heart beats faster and faster. A river of blood is flowing from a central point. Sweat and tears cloud his eyes. A feeling of helplessness and heartbreak strikes all at once, he is about to explode. He didn't, he couldn't, there was no way he could have possibly…
…Killed her.
