FMA_contest prompt: Swing
When Edward heard that Alphonse hit someone, he had to ask if that person was sure. The main reason was because Al wouldn't hurt a fly. Of course, that was a lie. Alphonse will punch a bad guy or whatever creature they were facing at the time.
So, yes, Al would hit someone.
Just a regular day things, Al wouldn't hurt a fly. He had more patience than anyone he knew expected maybe the Colonial. Al would much rather punch a wall or something than a person.
So, he asked the random person again if they REALLY were sure that his brother hit someone. Yes, the person was sure. The person even described him. Yup, that was his little brother. Now, why would he go and hit someone like that?
Who made Al angry enough to hit them?
And should he hit that person too?

It didn't take long to find his little brother.
It wasn't like he was doing much anyway. While he was bandaged head to toe, he could move around. Al couldn't. Walking across the room was a workout that left his brother in a sweat and exhausted. His little brother was so proud of himself when he made it across the room the first time. Eating could be a hit or miss since Al's stomach could reject the food at any moment. It has been a month and Al still looked liked a skeleton.
It made him nervous that his brother could get sick. His body wasn't in any shape to fight off the common cold.
He forced his thoughts out of his head.
He didn't need to worry about that. He needed to worry about what happened.
But he couldn't help but smile when he saw his brother sitting outside the balcony. His eyes glanced over his brother until it landed on his bandaged hand.
"So….I heard that you punch someone today," He said.
Al blinked then gave him a guilty look.
"I'm guessing by your hand that it is true. Going to tell me why?" He said as he took a seat next to his brother.
His little brother sighed as he moved over.
"They blamed you." Alphonse said softly.
"What?" He said in confusion.
"They blamed you for what happened," His little brother said.
He opened his mouth then shut it. He really didn't know how to reply to that. He knew of the rumors but he didn't know how far it had gone. Maybe, he was going to have to talk with the new government after all.
"So, you punched him?"
"Not very hard."
He laughed softly.
"You didn't need to defend me."
"You are my brother. I don't like how they were talking about you."
He sighed. He felt his brother's body become stiff next to him. He knew that Al was going to be stubborn about it. So, he took a different route.
"Did you break his nose?"
"What?"
"Break his noise."
He felt the tension in Al's body disappear. He glanced over at his brother, who gave him a sheepish look.
"No…."
"Bloody nose?"
"No…."
"Al…?"
"I kind of burst out his two front teeth and gave him a bloody lip."
"Oh….," He said.
Then he started to laugh.
Thank god for little brothers.
