This is my first story. I know its short, but it's just the first chapter.
Thalia's POV
I couldn't help but stare at him. His beautiful face, his messy, sandy blonde hair, his mischievous smile that told teachers, watch out for me, I'm trouble. I didn't know how long I was staring at him until he shook my shoulders gently.
"You alright, Thalia?" he asked me with a worried look on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine Luke," I said too quickly. "Oh, umm, I umm…, I was just thinking about… stuff,'' I added, again too quickly. I turned around and pretended to be looking for something in my backpack so he wouldn't see me blush.
What the heck is your problem? He's just your friend! What are you doing? I mentally slapped myself. I'm right. And stop blushing, Thalia. You don't blush, that's a girly thing to do. Be tougher.
"Hey Thals, why don't you get some sleep?" Luke said, using his nickname for me, and shook me gently from behind, startling me. I felt his hands on my shoulders, and my heart did a little relay race.
I turned around hoping that I wasn't blushing and said, "That's a great idea." I forced myself to smile, hoping he would buy it. He did.
"Goodnight, Thals," he smiled and turned around to tend to the small campfire that we had made so monsters couldn't find us that easily.
When my head hit the pillow, I would usually fall asleep right away, but tonight I realized something, something that I didn't want to emit, even to myself: I was falling in love with my best friend.
