Ambidexterous

Jack sat in a hard wood chair, leaned over a piece of paper and writting vigurously, each cursive word playing out formly and beautifully, stretching across the paper in handwriting that looked as if a free bird had wrote it while gliding through the air.

A shadow however, suddenly stopped him from wirting his small letter and he looked up curiously at who decided to interupt him and hover above him so.

He peered upwards and squinted as the sun seemed to make the figure only a sillhoute to him.

"Jack, I didn't know you are left-handed." A soft feminine, english voice rang through his ears. "That's very interesting. In Port Royal a doctor had a theory that most geniuses were left-handed, although most said him to be mad, I thought he was brilliant."

Elizabeth.

"Left-handed? Jack ain't left-handed. He be right-handed. I saw him just the other day, writing with his right-hand on a map in that there very chair." Joshamee Gibbs interupted.

"But see here? He is obviously writing with left-hand Mr. Gibbs." Elizabeth debated, her facts to be more proof then of his. "Your memory must be failing in your..older age."

Mr. Gibbs gave a soft laugh and shook his head. "Lass, if it's one thing I'm known for it's me memory!"

"Um, 'ello. You know, I'm still here to just let you know..I don't think anyone would know nor have the knowledge of what-handed I am better than I, myself, unless someone be stalkin' me day and night which happens on a few rare occasions..." Jack said suggestivly but slipping into lost thought.

Elizabeth and Gibbs exchanged embarassed looks and gave a soft embarassed laugh to each other.

"Jack..?" Elizabeth asked softly.

"Oh..terrbile thing that sun, didn't even notice you were there. It's Captain by the way..but how may I be of assistance luv?"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes and continued. "I'm correct aren't I? Your left-handed."

"No, no, no. Tell 'er Cap'n, your right-handed."

Jack rolled his own eyes and then looked at Gibbs. " Well first off mate, why would I have a quil in my left-hand if in I was right-handed?"

"I knew it!" Elizabeth boasted. "So that means I'm right."

"No, actually your both wrong." Jack replied to her a little bit too quickly.

"What?" The young woman interjected.

"I'm both-handed..or rrratha' Ambidexterous." Jack pinched his middle finger and thumb together and made small gestures with his hands around his mouth as sounded out the word slowly as if they were children.

Both looked flabbergasted at their captain.

"When are ye' eva' goin' ta' learn mates? I'm difficult and I'm not your everyday man. Not to mention, handsome, smart, and-"

"Don't go overboard or I will throw you that way!" Elizabeth interupted and began walking off.

"How did I never notice that he wrote with both hands?" Gibbs asked himself as he shook his head and began going to lower deck to begin drinking rum at about an hour earlier than usual for the portly older man.

Jack just shook his head and got back to writing his letter, turning around he noticed it was gone. He looked aorund before realizing something, it wasn't only gone..it was picked up by the wind and thrown off into the ocean..

"Bugga'.." He mumbled as he went to his cabin to re-start all over again.

'That' he thought to himself, was a perfect example of why he never tried to share little fun facts about himself. Something just got ruined and had to be restarted in the end.

Yes, be scared..very scared..because..I HAVE FOUND THE ART OF ONE-SHOT-ING! Okay, anyways. Just a funny little one-shot on something that seemed to just be pent up inside my plot bunny space.

Thank you come again.
