This is just a short little oneshot. A bit depressing, but I kinda like it.

Hehe, I'm gonna be all mean and not tell you who the narrator is. You'll just have to guess xD

Disclaimer: Nope, don't own. Wish I did, but don't.

It was hard to say what she felt around him. She felt...safe. Like as if nothing would ever hurt her again.

Of course, she felt stupid because of that, and hid her weakness with attack and defence.

But still...

Truth be told, she had had a few boyfriends before she had been recruited by the hyperactive god that is Hermes. None of them had meant anything, and they hadn't gotten anything from her, though they had wanted to.

And then, she met him. A ray of sunshine in her life, eliminating the shadows of her past.

She felt safe in his arms, on the rare occasions that they hugged. When other men touched her, she felt uneasy, ready to pounce, like a tiger in a cage.

Yes, a tiger...she was like a tiger, or a cheetah. A cheetah described her better, probably.

Even when it was one of her guy friends, she felt uneasy. But not with him.

No, definitely not with him.

With him, she could be her true self, unafraid to show her emotions.

Well, except for one emotion, of course. And you don't have to think very hard to guess which emotion that is, now do you?

Love.

She had noticed it first when her stomach did flip-flops in her stomach, or when her skin burned at his touch. She thought, hoped, that he felt the same way, but how could she be sure? She didn't want her heart broken again, and so she hid behind a mask of independence, when really, she was dependent on him.

But no, she would never tell him. Never. Not in a million years.

But could she even wait that long? Could she resist his cobalt eyes for more than two minutes? Or his thick, soft lavender hair that stuck up at the front no matter how hard he tried to smooth it down?

No, she didn't think so.

She was like a flower, a flower thirsty for the sun. For him.

She wanted to be the first thing that he saw in the morning and the last before he fell asleep. She wanted to bear his children, and be there through the good times and the bad.

She wanted to just be there, point. She had seen how he looked at her, every now and then, when he thought that she wasn't watching. She had seen that soft expression of his, a look just for her.

They had their fights, of course. But who didn't? They where meaningless, fights to just stay sharp, an endless competition between the two.

He was different. He would never take advantage of her, she knew.

It was hard to say what she felt like around him. She felt...safe. Like as if nothing would ever hurt her again.

But still...
