*Ally's POV*

Hi I'm Ally and I'm 14. I live in District 12, more specifically in the Seam. I have long black hair and grey eyes, like most people in the Seam. I have an older sister called Maria who has won the games already, so she is no longer eligible for the Reaping of the 150th Hunger Games, a Quarter Quell, which is today.

*At the Reaping*

I got my finger pricked and walked to the roped off section labelled "14, female." I saw my best friend Patricia stood in the 13 year old female section. I smiled at her and she returned a half smile. Maria wasn't there because she was inside the Justice building as she would be the mentor for the female tribute.

Our new escort Turquoise Sparkler came up onstage after they had played the film and started blabbing. I didn't listen to it until she said "And the male tribute for District 12 is," and then read off her slip of paper "Damian Flintwood!" Ooh, he would be hard to kill, he was 6ft 5, lean and muscly, and he was 18.

Then Turquoise read out the female tribute. "Ally Black!" she yelled and I drew in a sharp breath. I was going into the Hunger Games. And I would probably never come out and see my family again.
