She sits alone on the back porch,

Knees drawn up to chin

Silver light shines down

She watches the Full Moon rising

And she knows he's out there, hurting somewhere,

Doesn't know where

Wishes she was there,

Just to hold him

Ease his pain,

Though she knows he'd give her pain

Make her bleed, she wouldn't scream

She just wanted to hold him.

Knowing it would never be,

She fell down dreaming of holding him

Woke up and thought she heard him screaming,

Though she wasn't there to hold him, ease his pain

Though she knew he'd give her pain

Make her BLEED

She couldn't bear to hear him scream

She couldn't scream so the tears fell silently

He's pushing her away, to save her

From his abuse, but she's already bleeding

And silently she's screaming,

"can't you see how you're hurting me?!"

She knows he's out there, hurting somewhere

Doesn't know where

Only that she isn't there

To hold him, ease the pain,

Though she knew he'd give her pain

Make her bleed, she'd refuse to scream

Because he was already screaming

And she knows he's bleeding

All alone, without her there to hold him

She couldn't stop him screaming if

she wasn't there to hold him

sitting alone on the back porch

Knees drawn up to her chest

Silver light shines down

She watches the Full Moon Rising

Knowing he's out there, hurting somewhere

Doesn't know where

Prays she could be there

To hold him, ease his pain

Though she knows he'd give her pain

Make her bleed, she couldn't scream

Because he's already screaming

She couldn't stop the bleeding

If she wasn't there to hold him
