Riku and Sora are captured by the 'Forgotten'. Riku believes a set of familiar eyes from a childhood friend is hidden behind a mask.

"This can't be happening!" Sora whined as the soldiers dragged him and me off to some huge room filled with even more soldiers. From the looks of it, I guessed it was some kind of main room. What trouble did we get into this time?

Riku and Sora soon learned that the hearts and souls of defeated heartless and nobodies are held captive in the chambers below, where they were soon to be sent. Riku immediately recognized Zexion while Sora barely remembered his minor enemy, Demyx. The same girl with the mask hiding her eyes visits the chambers at night to talk with the captives. Demyx gossiped and chattered on with the girl, while Zexion only spoke a few words, most of them insulting his dirty blond cellmate. Riku was too discouraged after being locked in a chamber with not much hope, but Sora didn't seem too down. He wanted to tell her their story.

Waking up to both Demyx and Zexion gone, Riku and Sora find the girl fidgeting with the computerized lock to their chambers. They're finally free but Riku purposely separates from Sora to look for their savior.

Riku gets caught again, but the girl finally speaks out her first words and says to let him go. Riku knows this is the same girl he played with on the islands and wants her to know that too, but she has to remember that herself. Riku then 'kidnaps' her and runs for it.

Chapter 1

"Finally out of there." I said giving the girl a smile, hoping I'd get a smile back. Instead, I received an awkward, empty stare. This is going to be difficult. I guess it's not really kidnapping anymore since she's following me, kind of like a puppy.

"Could I ask you something?" so she speaks once again.

"Yes you may." I replied, slowing down my pace so she would walk beside me.

"That guy that was with you…" she paused placing a hand on the mask. I wondered how she could even see through that mask since there weren't any eyeholes… "Sora."

"How do you know Sora?" I asked just suddenly stopping. I expected her to bump into me, but she swiftly leaped to the side and then appeared in front of me smiling. Even after all these years, she had that same warm smile.

"Sora and I grew up together."

So she remembers… But does she remember me? "Do you… Remember anyone else?" I asked simply getting to the point.

"There were other kids on the island, Destiny Islands. Let's see…" She moved to my side now and continued to walk. I followed, watching her think. "There was a girl named Kairi, she hung out with Sora most of the time…"

"Anyone else?" What about me?

"There were some other kids that lived on the island, but I never played with them much, so I don't really remember them."

"Do you remember me?"

It's short, but the next chapters will be longer. It's just an introduction chapter.
