Good Night Mr

Good Night Mr. Tom - Epilogue

"Did I get any mail, Dad?" asked Will. He was hoping for a letter from Carrie. He missed her a lot now that she was in college.

"Not from Carrie, but there is one from New York. Do you know anyone who lives there?" asked Tom.

"No not that I know of."

"Well, open it!" said Tom excitedly.

Will opened it carefully.

"Yippee callou calley!" he exclaimed.

"What is it," asked Tom.

"I got a letter inviting me to act in a play on Broadway, wherever that is," Will said.

"It's obviously in New York," Tom said.

"Whizzo!" Will yelled, "I get to go to America!"

"That's great. What's the play called?" Tom asked.

"Um, it's called Romeo and Juliet," said Will.

"Well, I'll come with you if you want me to of course," said Tom.

"Okay dad," Will said excitedly.

"Great! Let's start packing!" Tom said.

"We have to leave tomorrow," Will said.

"I've never been on a plane before," Will said nervously.

"Neither have I, lad," Tom said.

"Now boarding flight 7692," said an announcer over the intercom.

"That's us," said Tom after glancing at their tickets.

They boarded the plane.

"This isn't how I pictured a plane to look like," said Will.

"These are our seats," Mr. Tom said sitting down.

After awhile of looking out the window and asking the flight attendant for more peanuts, Will fell asleep. Tom followed suit soon after.

"Here already?" asked Will, "It felt like it was only 10 minutes!"

"Let's get out of here and find our hotel," Tom said.

"Okay Dad," said Will.

~-~-~-~

"Here we are, Will. The Four Seasons!"

"Whizzo! I've never been to a hotel before!" Will said.

"You've never been anywhere before."

"Excuse me Miss, we're looking for a room," Mr. Tom asked the lady at the front desk.

"We have a room reserved of Mr. William Oakely, is that you?"

"Yes it is."

"Okay, Room number 409. You go up the stairs and it's the first door on the left."

"Thank you, Miss," said Tom gratefully. They trudged up the stairs and found room 409. They went inside and unpacked.

"We have a long day tomorrow. Let's go to bed," said Mr. Tom.

After weeks of hard practicing it was finally time for the big night. The auditorium was packed with people. Will was a little nervous. He could see Mr. Tom in the audience. He started to get into character. He walked onto the stage. "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" said Juliet in a moony voice.

"Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this?" Will replied dramatically. The play went smoothly through the night.

"Bravo, Bravo!" screamed the crowd as thy stood up on their seats and clapped.

"You were wonderful, Will," said Tom.

"Thanks Dad," Will said, "I only wish Zach was here to see it."
