I watch the dark night sky.

It welcomes me with a cool breeze.

I try to find her.

Try to remember her face

Her eyes

Her lips

Her smile

But everything is a blur.

She doesn't seem to exist to me anymore.

Its been 2 years since I left her.

Don't ask me why…I have no idea.

We were doing fine, then one day it just happened.

I was looking into her startling green eyes

Remembering what we used to be

Remembering our past

Remembering our love.

Then I disappeared.

I just left her.

Memories,

They're great when you can remember them.

They're great when you know what you're looking for.

But the dark is falling over me again

And I'm thrust back into this place

A place where she doesn't exist to me anymore.

I fight my way through the darkness

And I am faced with familiar streets

I am back home, back in Roswell

I know where I'm headed

I'm standing outside her window

She sees me

I know she does

She's looking right at me!

Maria…my love

Maria…my angel

She's looking right at me, but she doesn't move towards me

Instead she looks blankly at me

Without emotion

Without acknowledgement

She just stares.

Her eyes aren't as green anymore.

Her face is expressionless.

Michael…Michael

I hear her whisper but it does not come from the scene in front of me

I turn to see her

She's standing right behind me

But how can this be?

She's lying on her bed, eyes wide, mouth open and…

Blood…there's blood dripping from her wrists

I feel her hand on my shoulder.

She's behind me and in front of me all at the same time.

I know now why I left

I didn't leave out of choice

I left because I was forced to

And now, she's followed me

She's followed me here into the darkness.
