Love Hurts
Charlie Weasley always loved one girl, Nymphadora Tonks. The problem with this was she didn't even know he existed. It wasn't until their seventh year, and they were both made head boy and girl, that she even noticed him.
Nymphadora Tonks was a shy girl, being a metamorphmagus she was picked on constantly during her pre-school life, so when she went to Hogwarts she didn't try to notice people, or get noticed. Her only friend was her sister, Lyra who was a year older than she was. However, all of that changed when she met Charlie Weasley.
Now and then, I think of when we were together
It took Charlie Weasley three months to get the courage to ask the girl out, but when he did, he wasn't disappointed in the least.
"Dor, will you go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend? You know… Like on a date?" Charlie asked, nervously biting his lip as a blush appeared on his cheeks. His answer was a kiss.
Like resignation to the end, always the end
" I don't want to be your girlfriend anymore, Charlie! We're over!" Nymphadora yelled at her boyfriend of four years, "I don't want to hurt you… But… I found someone else, Char."
Charlie just looked at his girlfriend of four years with tears in his eyes, "It's that werewolf guy, isn't it?"
"I'm sorry," she said quietly, wrapping her arms around her stomach, "Goodbye Charlie."
Charlie shook his head. "If I didn't want to go to Romania…"
"It wouldn't change, Char. What we had was brilliant, but I'm… I'm just not in love with you anymore, I'm sorry." Nymphadora said, slowly walking away.
Charlie nodded slowly and whispered, "Okay, goodbye Dor."
Part of be believing it was always something that I'd done
"I still think I could have prevented it, you know?" Charlie said to Lyra, two months after his break up with her sister. She went to Romania with him; turns out, they had a lot in common, and soon became best friends.
"You know, I like you and all Char, but I don't want to talk about my sister all the time, you know," Lyra said licking her tongue out at her best friend, "Plus, you know? Love hurts. There's nothing you can do about it and it wasn't your fault."
"Why did you come here with me?" Charlie asked all of a sudden, catching the girl off guard.
"Uh… Why not?" Lyra said a faint blush appearing on her cheeks that she tried to hide from him.
Charlie shrugged. "I thought it was because you felt sorry for me."
Lyra shook her head. "No... I... Like you, Char, but… You're still hung up over Nymph…"
"Oh," Charlie said sadly, "I'm sorry."
"Its fine," Lyra said with a smile playfully pushing his shoulder, "Let's go fly a dragon, yeah?"
***LH***
"I think I like you," Charlie confessed a year later, "Please don't break my heart."
"I won't," Lyra said with a huge grin, leaning in and kissing him. For the first time in a year, Charlie felt truly happy.
Now you're just somebody that I used to know.
This didn't turn out like I had hoped… But what can I say, it's 5 in the morning.
