Sunday Morning

(A super fluffy little one-shot!)

A cry broke through the crisp night air surrounding Godric's Hollow. "I'll get it…" says a dark-haired man sleepily. His fiery-headed wife merely shifted and nodded. Harry mad ehis way to the room down the hall where his daughter awaited his aide. The girl, Lily, shared her hair with her mother. To match her hair,, Lily was screaming bloody murder. "Hello, sweetie…daddy's here, 's alright…sh…shhh…" Harry picked up his daughter and rocked her, bouncing her in his arms. Lily soon fell back asleep and Harry replaced her in her crib. Looking at the clock, Harry saw that it was 7am and so the young father headed downstairs to make breakfast. As Harry fired up the griddle, he was cooking the muggle way, his young son Albus cam creeping down the stairs, clutching a worn teddy bear. "Daddy…what are you doing?" asked Albus, drowsily rubbing his eyes.

"Daddy's making pancakes," said Harry, picking up the 2-year-old and handing him a spatula. "Do you wanna flip the pancake for daddy?" Albus nodded and put the spatula under a hotcake. "Ready….1…2…3…flip! Albus flipped a little too hard and the pancake flew into the air and onto the floor. Albus started to blubber and cry.

"I'm s-s-sorry daddy – I d-didn't m-mean to h-hurt the p-p-panny-cake!" stuttered Albus, looking into his dad's eyes, tears streaming down his little face.

"I know sweetie, it's ok. Daddy can make another. Why don't you go wake mumy and James?" said Harry, giving the toddler a hug and sending him off with a small push. Ginny soon joined Harry, sleepily cracking eggs into a bowl. James also joined the little family. Albus and his brother soon started a game of Gobstones on the living room rug. Lily started crying again soon, and so Ginny went to get her while Harry finished the cooking and set the table with magic.

Ginny returned and placed the sniffling 1-year-old in a high chair. Harry served everyone in the breakfast nook and the family dug in. There was laughing, joking, talking and a small squabble over syrup between James and Albus.

After breakfast, Harry went up to help the kids get dressed and Ginny cleaned up. ALbus and James soon resumed their game of Gobstones. Harry also joined them, while Ginny watched, bouncing Lily on her knee.

At noon, Harry go up and kissed his wife on the cheek. "G'bye guys! I'll see you this evening!" Harry apparated to the Auror's department and left his family peacefully at home, enjoying their Sunday afternoon together.
