The bass pulsed through her veins, keeping her heart beating in a steady rhythm. This club had been her secret. Nobody was supposed to know that she would come here to drink and dance. And nobody was supposed to know she would secretly watch one woman in particular. But she had been caught by her eye candy. She turned too late to see the woman of her dreams run out the door and into the dark alley. It had taken only seconds for her to realize that she had been seen dancing provocatively with another woman. It made her head ache to see her upset.

Even outside the club she could feel the music just as clearly as if she were in the small building. What she wanted, what she sought after was outside, in the damp dark alley she was currently standing in. She stepped cautiously around the corner, running her fingers along the cool stone of the buildings on either side of her. She didn't know why, but she knew the other woman had gone this way.

She spied her sitting on a metal crate a few yards down, looking both sad and angry at the same time. What could have happened to make her run like that? With a sigh she stepped closer to her. "B'Elanna?" Her name was uttered in a painful whisper by the sitting woman.

"Kathryn, it's not what you think. I didn't do anything wrong." B'Elanna whispered, taking another step closer.

The older woman looked up at her, pain in her eyes, a sad smile on her lips, "It doesn't matter. You can do what you want."

She was taken aback by that. She closed the distance between them to where she was standing just a few steps away now. "You want me to do what I want? Do you?" Her voice came out harsher than she intended, sending shivers down Kathryn's spine.

"Do what you want B'Elanna."

"What I want? What I really want Katie?" She had never used the woman's nick name, choosing now to reveal everything.

"Forget it!" Kathryn jumped up, yelling in the younger woman's face.

Without a second to breathe B'Elanna took Kathryn's face in her hands and pulled her to her. Their lips met, causing both women to hold on more tightly, not wanting to release their embrace.

"I love you, Katie. I always have. I just, didn't know how to tell you." B'Elanna admitted to her, a smile playing at her lips as she searched for a response from the other woman.

Kathryn's eyes held tears in them, threatening to spill out and down her cheeks. "I've felt the same, B'Ella. I didn't think you would feel the same. I was so afraid you would reject me. I would have been able to handle you pushing me away like that."

B'Elanna embraced her, kissing her forehead. "I would never reject you."
