Prologue
"Get down!"
"Keep your head to the ground for god's sake!"
Conrad was a Gondor soldier in the world of Middle Earth. He was at Osgiliath which was a city constantly attacked by Sauron and his warriors of Mordor. There was a war going on at the moment which every race in the world was involved in at least a little.
The hobbits live around the northwest and are very small peoples. They barely fight, but hunt and farm and the things of that. They have a few people involved in the way such as Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Perigrin Took, and Merridoc Brandywine. Those four are part of the Fellowship of the Ring.
The Dwarves live all over in their mines, Moria is one of them. They aid the kingdoms of the Elves and the Men in the war, but are pretty much in their own little war with the Goblins. The Goblins like to terrorize the Dwarf miners by attacking them from up high with bows and arrows. They even, from time to time, get control of cave trolls and wreak havoc.
The two kingdoms of Men are those who are mostly at war. One kingdom is that of Rohan. Rohan is the kingdom of the horselords and their king at the moment is Lord Theoden. He is a good leader, but is at war with Isenguard and their leader Saruman. Theoden has his leaders, Eomer is one and Gamling is the other. They are both captains of the King's Guard and command units of men. There is a fortress and a city that are well known in Rohan. The fortress is Helms Deep, a place which has never been breached by any enemy of Rohan. The city is Edoras, where King Theoden stayed in his Golden Hall.
The other kingdom of Men is Gondor. Gondor was known for two cities as well, Osgiliath and Minas Tirith. Minas Tirith had many layers where houses, hotels, and many other things were put. It had many buildings and is where the king (if there was one) and the steward stayed. A white tree symbolized them. Osgiliath was the defense of the city, put on a river with two parts and two bridges connecting the two parts. It ran over a large river and was constantly under attack by Sauron's legions.
The Elven kingdom is one of great power. One leader is Elrond, the most noticeable usually. He is at his home in Rivendell and helps out with Rohan a bit, but not much. The Elves seem like they want to stay neutral, but they do aid the kingdoms of Men from time to time.
The two great evils in the world are Mordor and Isenguard, both great lands. Isenguard is led by Sauron the White, a wizard who has great power. He controls the Uruk-Hai, a type of brutal Orc. He also has control over the Easterlings, former villagers who want revenge on the towns of the Westfold (the Westfold is a string of towns in Rohan). Isenguard is at war with Rohan.
Mordor is led by Sauron, a great eye who has control over everything that happens in Mordor. He has legions and legions of Orcs who attack Gondor constantly. He makes it as rough as possible. Isenguard and Mordor both help out the goblins as well.
The Nazgul are the agents of Mordor. There are nine Nazgul; they used to be men until Sauron corrupted them with rings. They had dark horses and dragons as well, carrying poisonous swords. Their leader, the Witch King, had special armor he had when he rode into combat.
