A/N: Sorry this story is going to annoy me to no end until it gets out of my head.
Elphaba sat, eating the salad she had gotten for her lunch. Just then Avaric came up to her with a package of peanuts in his hands.
"Oh Look! Greenie eating her greens." Elphaba looked at him with an annoyed glare. She looked down and saw the package of peanuts in his oversized fist.
"Oh Look! The elephant's eating his peanuts." She turned back to her salad and began to eat again. Even though she didn't see it, she knew his face was slowly turning red from anger and most likely embarrassment. She let a small smile come to her face before letting it resume its normal scowl. She knew the entire lunch room was watching this battle of words, including that dunderhead Fiyero and the bubble-blonde Galinda. Galinda still wasn't comfortable "hanging out" with her. She was just fine with that. She didn't have friends before Shiz and if she hadn't expected to have them now. Avaric ripped her from her seat and threw her to the ground. He slapped her and said, "How dare you insult me?"
Fiyero stood up in his seat, only being refrained by Galinda's arm on his. "Let me at 'im." Fiyero growled. He become quite fond of Elphaba and to have her hurt like that made him want to punch Avaric in the gut with all his might.
"No Fiyero. Let the Artichoke fight her own battles." Galinda said coldly. He sent Galinda a cold glare.
"HI-YA!" Fiyero whipped his head up to see Elphaba elbow Avaric in the face. She swept her legs out from under her in a low kick and a flurry of skirts and knocked Avaric off his feet. She whipped out a knife from her boot and held it in front of her, pointing it directly at Avaric's face. A collective gasp went out in the lunch-room.
"No one messes with me." With that Elphaba gathered her lunch and left the room in a flourish of skirts. The minute she was gone, the rumors began to fly. Fiyero stood up and followed Elphaba, not listening to Galinda's protests. That's my kind of woman. Fiyero thought as he reminisced about what had just occurred. If Galinda had been in that situation she would have begun to cry most likely. With Elphaba though, she defended herself, in one of the most amazing ways he had ever seen. He went to the library knowing Elphaba would be there. He went in and walked around for a moment before hearing a sad gasp for air. He followed the sound. He found Elphaba sitting in a chair, silently crying. His heart broke. He went up to her and put a comforting hand on her shoulder. She looked at him with a look of indifference.
"I heard." There was no need for her to elaborate. She silently stood up and walked out of the library and into the sunlight awaiting her, not giving Fiyero another word.
End.
