The quiet household sung with the clatter from the kitchen, Kyo and Yuki's bickering, and Shigure's perverted comments. The flowers bloomed all around, glowing as if they were gems in the sunlight. The warmth and yellow rays comforted them all, and flower petals rained quietly down, whispering to each other in the wind.
The blue sky blanketed the Earth, clouds only spotted here and there. It was a perfect day to garden.
Kyo's feet drummed down the stairs, muffled at first, then louder and louder like a drum being hit too hard. He slammed the door behind him, and did not return.
"Teenagers!" Shigure laughed as the cat left.
Papers were in front of him. He seemed to be working on a novel of some sort. (Maybe a sequel…?)
Yuki said quietly that he would go for a walk, and Tohru was set on joining him.
They were soon walking up to Yuki's secret base to see to all the plants.
"They're so beautiful, Yuki-kun!" Tohru gushed, gazing at the trees.
Yuki nodded absently, lost in his own thoughts. They soon reached the base, and set off to work. Silence enveloped them; each was enjoying the other's company, without saying a word.
Kyo padded around, thinking. He remembered the previous Spring; it didn't seem very nice compared to this one. The flowers were shining brighter, and the petals and grass danced in the wind as if to a happier melody. This was a sign of a good day to him.
The sun also seemed to shine brighter this morning, and he gazed at the sky, seeing the few clouds puffing slowly across the blanket of air. Then a bee landed on his nose. He shook it off, and his vision faded. The dark clouds gathered on the corners of the sky; and he new it would rain soon. His footsteps faded once more as he retreated back home.
Yuki's mind was relaxed; he felt warm and comforted. The plants had wonderful aromas, and the newly planted strawberries must have been reaching their roots deep in the soil, exploring their new home with wonder and interest, most likely. Or they were hungry and just needed those water and minerals for food.
Tohru looked up; Yuki must have been zoned out, because she looked as if she were ready to return. Her plants were safe in the soil, and his hand was frozen above a hole.
Her eyes glittered with a twinkle. "Yuki-kun?"
He looked up also, impulsively dropping the seed in the hole.
"Mmm?" he mumbled softly, finishing up gardening. Her voice didn't travel to his ear as he thought it would. Maybe she was just making sure he was okay or something.
The rat stood up, and prepared to go back. Tohru's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"I hope they'll grow wonderfully!" her voice rang.
He nodded absently once more, watching birds flit from tree to tree, and then gazing up at the darkening sky. Hello, Springtime.
