A/N: Yay, I finally wrote something! Unfortunately, my bursts of inspiration are few and far between, which is incredibly frustrating. But last night's episode prompted me to write this little ficlet. Maybe some other ficlets/one-shots about Special Education to come. Enjoy, and please review!

Finn. Every time she opened her locker, she saw the magazine-cut letters, with an instant pang in her chest. She had taken down the 4ever previously below it, but couldn't bear to take down his name.

She made it when they had hung out over the summer. They sat on her living room floor, a stack of magazines and construction paper and a roll of tape between them. She couldn't help but think of the last time they did this, over a year before, advertising for Glee club.

"Is this stupid? I don't think most girls make crafts with their boyfriends. We can watch a movie if you want." Rachel said as Finn awkwardly hacked at a piece of paper with kid-sized, bright pink scissors.

"No. I want your name on my locker for everyone to see. Right next to your crazy calendar." He kissed her on the forehead before she tackled him.

Well, the craft was temporarily forgotten.

So he had made one, too. Rachel wondered if the hastily taped creation was still on his locker. Or if he had torn it off his locker and into tiny pieces. Like last December when Finn ripped Quinn's picture off his locker door.

It felt empty. Without that 4ever. With that ridiculous cat calendar in the bottom of her backpack. Without his hand constantly intertwined with hers.

Singing didn't feel right. She closed her mouth and isolated herself. Just her and her animal sweaters and her memories in the corner of the choir room. All the while, constantly feeling Finn's eyes on her. If they were glaring or staring longingly, Rachel didn't want to know.

The worst of it all was that she knew everything would be okay if she hadn't kissed Puck.

Finn and Rachel.

No longer the and in-between.

Leave all your love and your loving behind, you can't carry it with you if you want to survive.
