It was the day of the tryouts and Cordy was extremely nervous. She had tried to talk Angel into coming and lip-syncing to a recording of Lorn's voice. For some reason, though, that had offended him. She guessed that it was because she had implied that he couldn't sing, which she didn't know was true. She had never heard him sing. So, now she was all alone at her audition and had to sing alone. This would be the first time that she had ever sang in front of anyone and she was scared beyond belief. "Take a deep breath Cordy," she thought to herself, "you know this song backwards and in your sleep." She had decided to sing the girls part of one of the duets in the play. The song was called "Love Will Find A Way" and she thought it did a great job of conveying her feelings for Angel. She had chosen that particular song for that very reason. The fact that she could relate to it meant that she could convey a lot of passion through that song. " Well it's now or never!" Thought Cordelia as they called out her name. She slowly walked up to the stage and climbed up onto it. "I will be singing the female voice in "Love Will Find A Way." she said. Then she began to sing.

Cordy: In a perfect world, one we've never known, we would never need to face the world alone. They can have the world, we'll create our own. I may not be brave or strong or smart, but somewhere in my secret heart I know love will find a way any where I go I'm home if you are there beside me. Like dark turning into day. Somehow we'll come through. Now that I've found you love will find a way.

She paused her singing thinking and waiting. Thinking about how she wished Angel felt the same about her as she did about him and waiting for the long strand of music where there should have been a male's voice. There was no one in her life that could actually say they felt that way towards her, though. That thought made her feel so sad and alone. Not even Angel felt that way towards her and she loved him more than life itself, but he still loved Buffy. She couldn't compete with Buffy the American dream. "Get a grip Cordy," she thought to herself, "Now its time to sing." As Cordy prepared herself for the next line the men's part of the song came up. "Oh great, and me with no man to serenade me!" she thought. Then out of nowhere Cordy heard a male voice singing.

Male: I was so afraid. Now I realize love is never wrong and so it never dies.

It was Angel. He climbed up onto the stage and began to walk towards Cordy who now had tears streaming down her face.

Angel: There's a perfect world shining in your eyes.

He walked up to her and wiped away her tears. He then took her hand as they began to sing together.

Both:And if only they could see it to, the happiness I feel with you, they'd know love will find a way. Anywhere we go we're home if we are there together. Like dark turning into day. Somehow we'll come through. Now that I've found you I know love will find a way.

After the song had ended Angel got down on one knee and took Cordy's hand. "Cordy, I know our love will find a way," he said, " so, will you do me the greatest honor of all and be mine forever?" With that he pulled out a ring and held it up to her. "Yes," she breathed on a sigh, "through thick and thin I want to always be with you." With that Angel and Cordy shared there first, though definitely not the last, kiss.
