Me: This is the first fic I've written that is even a bit philosophical, so be easy. It's just a little take on Ed's opinion of the rain and Roy's opinion of fire.

-Thoughts of Rain-

Edward never really liked rain. Rain always seemed to bring misfortune. Every tragedy that had ever occurred in his young life had been accompaied by rain. The failed transmutation, Nina's death, all of it, brought by rain. Rain was something to be wary of, something to avoid. Rain could wash away the delicate blood seal that held his brother, it could cause an illness so,alike to the one that took his mother. Rain was horrible.

Roy had always hated fire. Even though it was the element he used his alchemy to control, it always seemed to backfire. Every bad memory he could think of made him remember fire. Especially the Ishbal Massacre. Just thinking of the horrors that his fire wrought upon those poor, innocent people made him want to take his own life. Fire was something to ignore, to never use unless absolutely neccesary. Fire caused the screams of those innocent children. Fire was despicable.

But when Edward looked into his superior officer's eyes, those deep obsidian orbs, the first thing he thought of was rain. When Roy looked into his subordinate's emotional amber eyes, the first impression he got was that of fire. Rain could wash away all of the sorrows, wipe it all away. Rain always brought the guarantee of a fresh start. Fire could get rid of the older, painful memories, and could make room for newer, happier ones. Fire always brought the promise of a new day.

Edward always did like playing in the rain. Roy always did like watching fire.

Me: So, what do you think. It's the first EdRoy fic I've written. It's not all that graphic, that's not my style. So review please, no flames, that's Roy's job.
