With a flip of her hair she was off, off to her job in Osaka as a clerk in one of the finest jewelry shops there. Kagome hopped into her small sports car but as soon and she was about to insert the key to start up the car she stuttered. Kagome was very indecisive about her life and her job. She always felt like she should be somewhere else, with someone else.

When Kagome drove up to the shop, she was greeted by a medical gift and a warm smile. "Hojou…" Kagome muttered under her breathe as he helped her out of the car giving her a light peck on the cheek.

"Kagome, you're late again… You know who isn't going to be too happy with you…" Hojou sighed. "I honestly can't think of any other excuses for you this time…" Hojou caressed Kagome's cheek and went inside the store.

"Higurashi Kagome! Please come to my office…" A loud voice boomed over the loud speakers.

Kagome trudged up the long flight up the stairs to "you know who's" office. "You sent for me… Sesshomaru?" Kagome said with subdued voice.

"Yes Kagome. How many times have you been late this month?" Sesshomaru asked sharply.

"Three sir…" Kagome said still in her subdued voice.

"Are you happy with your wages?"

"Yes sir."

"You wouldn't want to be let off now, would you?"

"No sir"

"Don't do this to me again…"

"Yes sir"

"Get to your job!"

Kagome bowed and ran down the stairs while Sesshomaru put face into his hands as though he where disappointed in his life, and whishing he to where in a different place.

Sesshomaru flipped his long silver hair off his face and began organizing his papers.

"So, how'd it go?" Hojou asked in an uneasy voice, it almost sounded like he was about to fall over on the floor.

"I don't know…" Kagome muttered.

"It sounds like you do know."

Kagome let out a long sigh, "He threatened to fire me if I was late again."

Kagome left work that evening with the words "I should be somewhere else." In her mind. As she was driving down the neatly paved road she saw and injured boy lying on the street un-conscious. Kagome swiveled the car over nearly hitting a stop sign and lamp post. Kagome jumped out of the car not only to find the red haired boy laying on the floor, but a man with a small rat (pony) tail on the back of his head.

"Is he alright?" Kagome shouted at the man.

"He gonna be fine, just keep your tidies in a bundle and call 911!" The man said with a bit of a laugh in his voice.

"This is no laughing matter!" Kagome spat.

"But-"

"But what?!"

"He'll be fine, you'll see. But, just call the police in case."

What is this man? Kagome thought as she reached for her phone in her pocket. "Hello? Yes, We may need an ambulance at the first stop light by 53rd street. We have an injured kid here, it may not be serious, but we- I mean I just wanted to make sure." Kagome then slipped the phone back into her pocket and stepped over to aid the boy.

"I'm Miroku. I'm pleased to meet you…" The man added.

"Kagome. Higurashi Kagome."

"Well, it was nice to meet you" Miroku said reaching his hand out to meet hers. "I must ask you this one question… Will you bear my child?"

"WHAT?!" Kagome screamed. "What would ever make me want to be the bearer of your child!?"

"It was worth a shot…" Miroku thought to himself.

"What are you staring at pervert…"

"Oh, it's nothing."
