Author's note: I really haven't been writing Harry Potter fics lately. I've been wrapped up in Rurouni Kenshin, but I decided to write this. Please enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or anything having to do with it.

Looking out her window, Ginny surveyed the tops of the trees in the forbidden forest. It looked so beautiful, so wild, so...so...forbidden. But why did everything have to be forbidden? Everything seemed to be that way. Always.
"You must be joking," Ron had said when she had told him. "That's insane! What's gotten into you?"
Yes, yes it was insane. The parts of Ginny that would have resisted this comment had been silenced the moment she had walked into the dormitory. Insane. Ha! It was about as insane as any other love could be.
And what business was it of Ron's if Ginny liked someone? Wasn't it her choice? As long as she didn't get hurt, wasn't she allowed to love at will, or had Ron gone ahead and planned her future?
Forbidden. Such a stupid idea. Why would someone make something forbidden, when that only made everyone want it more? Why did Ron make him forbidden? Why couldn't Ron just mind his own business?
So what if she liked Draco! So what if she even loved him! It wasn't her fault that every time he walked past her knees gave out, or that every time he talked to her, her brain shut off. It wasn't her fault that she went numb every time he'd brush against her. It wasn't her fault he was so irresistible, so important, so forbidden.
"Forbidden," Ginny let the word play on her lips. What a beautiful concept a forbidden love was. What a wonderful thing! And it wasn't impossible, either. All she'd have to do was tell Ron she never meant any of it and go on loving Draco from afar.
How simple. How delightful.
Ginny smiled at her plan, resting her head on her arms. She and Draco would just love each other silently, or at least secretly, forbidden to tell anyone. And if one of them ever decided to end it, they'd just go free, no strings attached.
How evil. How wicked. How like her.
Forbidden love. Such a sweet concept.
