"Ok ladies, great practice!' Paige said as the spirit squad packed up their things. Paige checked the time again. "Uh, 4:15 I told Alex I'd be at her house by 4:00" Paige thought. Hazel called to Paige she was leaving but Paige was distracted by Manny struggling to get everything away, that was part of her deal to get back on spirit squad she had to put everything away after practice. Paige didn't like Manny but she did seem to be struggling. Paige walked over and picked up the water. Manny looked at her like she was crazy.

"I don't have to help, you know." Paige said walking forward. Manny shrugged and followed her. Paige opened the supple room door and walked in setting the water down. She turned to Manny, who was setting down the bag of pom-poms, and noticed the door close behind Manny.

"No!" Paige screamed running to the door. Too late, it had already closed.

"What?' Manny asked turning around as well. Paige sank against the door.

"This door only opens from the outside. We're stuck in here." She answered pressing her hands to her forehead.

"No, I've got plans with Craig." Manny said looking horrified

"And I've got a date."

Manny sat down as well. This couldn't get worse, first she now had to blow her plans with Craig off, and she was stuck with Paige. Manny knew Paige wasn't her number one fan but being locked in a room with her would not be good. She worked up the nerve to start a conversation.

"Whose your date with?" Manny asked rubbing her arms up and down.

Paige shot a look at Manny, "Do you really think I'm going to tell you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Let's see, You stole Spinner from me, then got Matt fired. Do you really think I want you to ruin another relationship of mine?"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to, sorry." Paige noticed how sorry Manny actually looked about what had happened.

"Alex." She said

"What about her?" Manny asked

"Alex, she's my date, girlfriend actually," Paige looked at Manny and her blank face, "Girlfriend, as in we're dating, together."

"I know what you mean, I'm just surprised to say the least."

"I was too."

"Don't you of all people care what others say?" Manny asked really interested in Paige's life for the first time ever

"No."

"But what about the things the say about you guys like being together?"

"Love isn't about what people say or think, Manny. Love is about two people and how they feel and are with one not about what others say."

"Aren't you ever scared?"

"Of what?"

"Of being tormented, or being called a dyke or lesbo."

"I used to care but it doesn't matter. I don't think I need the worlds approval to hold hands with Alex or kiss her in the park."

"Paige, I'm really not trying to be mean but that was by far the deepest thing I think you've ever said."

"Thanks Manny. So what about you? How are you and Craig?"

"I don't think we have time for that story?"

"We're going to be here awhile, we've got the time."
