Red
Sorry if this was a bit corny, it's the first thing that came to my mind :D
She knew he saw red. From the moment he took Ginryuu from her small hands he had leapt from the small bed he was confined to, storming through the dark hallway out to the courtyard. Her magnificent head turned as he left the room in haste. Her heart beat furiously in its cage as she thought of what he was going to do.
"Kurogane-san... why?" Tomoyo whispered, gazing at the stormy mess he left in his wake. She heard enraged cries from downstairs and she paced out of the room to see what was happening.
Kurogane was wielding Ginryuu in the little garden with all his strength. She shook her head silently. This would not do. He was destroying everything Ginryuu came into contact with. Tomoyo gathered her robes and descended quickly to where he was.
"Kurogane-san, I know you're still hurting-"
"Stay away from me!" Kurogane yelled in rage, slashing at the blooming flowers planted and pruned neatly, lining the little pond. "You don't want me to hurt you!"
She stepped forward and held on to his arm with all her might. "Kurogane-san, listen to me. It will be alright. Believe me. Don't hurt the things around you anymore."
"If you don't let go of me now I'm going to hurt you too!" he gasped as he flailed about. Tomoyo refused to let go; he was practically shaking her off now. She was no match for his great strength, even though he was still a young boy.
Kurogane sneered as he removed her grip effortlessly. "You're not going to use your magic on me now, are you?"
"I'm not going to! Trust me!" she grabbed his right arm again. He thrashed about violently, accidentally slashing Tomoyo's arm with the sleek blade. She saw red rising from its wound swiftly and she bit her lip in pain.
He saw her fall from him and he stopped momentarily. "See what I told you?"
She shook her head. "I'm alright. You have to stop this now! You know what destruction your strength can bring about. Please." She saw that the sleeve of her lavender robe was already seeped with scarlet.
He sighed. He felt his heart wrench a little at someone getting hurt by the new blade; someone he'd never intended to harm at all. Someone he might even come to like, after being in the palace for three weeks now. He saw red; but not anger. He saw blood.
"Are you alright?" he knelt down beside her, then suppressing the tiniest bit of concern that rose inside him. She nodded.
"Please, stop this," she whispered. "I know it's hard... I know what it's like to lose the people you love."
He rolled his eyes and said nothing. He picked her up gently and carried her upstairs to get her cut treated.
"I'm sorry," whispred Kurogane as he left the room.
For now, he saw red no more.
