1698 a Crossing Destinations
The living room is crowded, aristocrats, snobs and servitude together in one place, driven by their obligations or by pleasure, they are driven by the continued path of life, uniting their destinies for a moment of infinity. It is a work of chance, a game of fate.
The young's dance, courting the waltz: one, two, three, four, five, six. That swing enchants Laura, the lady starts to get dizzy with the sparkles produced by crystal chandeliers, the voices of the people, and the diligence of their departure. The dresses of the ladies cavort with movement, while the music makes them custody.
Between steps, Carmilla observes the void, searching for the stars through the window, remains upright, at her center, like a top, but her spirit is not present, her thoughts take her away to other worlds built with the subtle stuff of dreams, where the responsibilities of a noble lady, like she, does not exist.
Between steps, their eyes are like two swirls in the water, colliding to create one bigger force. The piece makes its stop at the same time in which Laura and Carmilla are face to face crossing their glances, outshining everyone around, two lonely souls in a sea of beings.
Despite the inches separating them, they exchanged a sight that short distances. The wind, like a touch, moistens the lips, stopping time in eternal showing. While the distance disappears, their stories and memories of this and other lives merge. They are designed one for the other.
Time marches on, the distance again becomes manifest. Laura and Carmilla move towards each other, trying to find their hands to hold . But the immutable time will mark another cadence, through the crowd that passes between them, as a wild boar chasing their prey. The two young womans want to call each other, yell to their soulmate, but do not know their names.
A feeling of tightness in her chest prompts Carmilla to look at her watch, its late to go to work. Laura is pulled by her friend LaFontaine, they must go to a meeting.
The doors of the subway, the rumble of the wheels on the rails, the voices of the crowd, the smell of the city, and their duties separated them once again, between times and spaces. Will their destiny cross again?
