Dean's gaze traveled the distance between their current position and the Impala. He calculated their odds and frowned. Chances were they wouldn't make it. But he refused to just sit here and wait for annihilation. He tapped Sam's shoulder.
"Sam, we're not gonna make it. You go—I'll stay here and hold it off."
"What?! No!"
"Sam..."
"No, Dean. We either go together or we don't go at all."
"But you..."
"No."
"You have..."
"No."
"Did anyone ever tell you you're too damn stubborn?"
Sam snorted softly. "Yeah, I'M the stubborn one."
