Chapter 1 - Same World, Different Faces
Jess smiled "I'm not evil" she said "I'm protecting myself, these people, we don't know you, or you us. By the looks of you, you had a few times where you should have done this yourself."
She walked up the line of gagged men in the group. The women, not gagged.
"Why only gag them?" Michonne asked watching as the woman stopped at Carl and was staring down at the boy.
"Because I can" she said simply before turning and going to Rick, who was trying to scream at the woman to get away from Carl.
"Your son?" She asked looking down at the man on his knees, hands bound behind his back.
Rick nodded and made a muffled sound through the gag as he tried to release his hands from the ropes holding him.
Jess sighed and turned to look at some of the others in her the group. She nodded at them and watched a couple of them exited the room.
"Tell me" she said to Michonne was calm, her hands tight behind her back. "Where have you all come from and why are you here?"
Michonne scowled at the woman then sighed. Rolling her eyes "the last place we were at was Terminus."
The word made Jess stop in her tracks in front of Daryl, his bruises were faint on his face.
"Terminus?" She said, not looking up from Daryl, she frowned. "You came from Terminus?"
"Yeah, what's left of it" Maggie said with a small grin, thinking of how they left the old train terminal.
"So you people are dangerous" Jess stated "I knew it" She paused looking down again at Rick "Kill them."
She said before spinning around and nodding to the two biggest men in the group. Obviously ex army guys, she left the room, the door slamming behind her.
"You think they really did get out?" Sara asked Jess as they entered the camps control room "from Terminus?"
Jess went to another man who was sitting at one of the desks "find out what happened to terminus Mike" the man nodded, jumped up and swiftly left the room.
The two burly men came into the room and nodded at Jess. "It's done?" She asked looking at the map, the distance the group must have travelled to get where they were was long, but it was possible they had told the truth.
"Done" the taller of the men said, pouring himself a drink of whiskey and finishing the glass in one go "easy."
