Alice's Lie

I was her dream,

A figment of her imagination.

I wasn't real,

And never had been.

My God that hurt,

To discover I wasn't real.

It's awful rude you know,

To deceive one of one's existence.

I surely would have liked to know,

To be prepared for my world to crumble…

I was her dream,

Nothing more,

Nothing less…

So, if I was just a whim of her imagination

Why did it hurt so?

My very heart shattered

And my being caved.

I was so sure I was real, but

I was her dream.

My life had been a lie,

My memories too.

Everything, even my madness, was a lie,

Her lie,

Her beautifully, mad lie.

Alice's Lie…
