So anyone who reads my stories knows I am the worst when it comes to updating. I do short chapters because I am impatient and don't have the time to write long ones. Just a warning. I will do what I can. Hope you like it.

Christian thought it would be torture. Usually he liked that kind of thing but not like this. Anna had pushed him, ending in more than one yelling match, to talk about her but it never seemed right. 'The crack whore', Ella, he corrected himself, was a part of his past and he wanted it to stay that way. She was the reason he lived his life the way he did for a long time. Anna came along and changed all of that, but it didn't mean he was ready to tell the world where he came from. The mystery was better then the truth in his eyes.

But somehow, with a baby on the way, it seemed like the right time to speak up. Christian had set up an interview with the one journalist who still had standing in his eyes. Martha Kent was a real journalist, and would frame the story of his first four years in the large sense of his life. It really wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. The article came out and it was better then he expected. He was pleased with the response and felt a real weight lift off his shoulders. Never in a million years could he see the set of events that he had put into motion.

Christian walks into the conference room holding the folder. A man sits alone at the end of the table sipping coffee. When the man looks up at him Christian falters for a moment. In the back of his mind something eats at him but he can't figure out what it is, so he brushes it off.

"Good Morning, Mr. Carter," Christian says.

The man gets up to shake his hand. "Mr. Grey it's nice to finally meet you."

"Please have a seat." Christian opens up the folder and glances at the man's resume one last time. "This is quite an impressive resume. MBA from Oxford, then Harvard Law School. You bounced around to different law firms, and then ended up lead counsel for GMC. You were there for a while. What made you want to leave?"

"Personal matters have drawn me out to Seattle."

"What would you say was the most difficult case you worked on in your career?" Mr. Carter doesn't respond. He just stares at Christian. "Is something wrong?"

"I'm sorry, I just didn't expect you to look so much like her."

In that moment it clicks. The reason he had faltered earlier. It was the eyes: Grey, tortured but soulful. Exactly what he saw when he looked into the mirror. In the back of his mind he had always feared this, the idea of someone showing up like this.

The man continues, "It's the face. It's almost a perfect replication of hers. Except the eyes. The eyes are all mine."

"Get out."

"Christian please."

Christian pushes a button on the speaker. "I need security in here right away."

"I just wanted to meet you. I wanted to see this amazing life you have built for yourself. I'm so proud."

Taylor comes through the door. "Get him out of here," Christian orders. Taylor grabs the man and starts to haul him out.

"Christian I'm your father."

The conference room door shuts and Christian is all alone.

I hope you like it. As per usual I don't know where this is going and I will update if I write more. Love you all.
