A/N: another songfic

Somebody's Heine

Is crowdin' my icebox

Somebody's cold one

Is givin' me chills

Guess I'll just close my eyes

His people called them the cold ones. Cold they were, to let Bella try something like this. To try to have a real honeymoon. Jacob Black was certain of this, certain that after she left he would never see her again. And there wasn't a thing he could do about it, not a damn thing.

Flip on the tele

Wrestle with Jimmy

Something is bubbling

Behind my back

The bottle is ready to blow

Jacob collapsed onto his couch, picking up the remote to change the channel. He had already flipped through a couple when Paul said, "I was watching that."

Jacob said nothing; he threw the remote back towards Paul and stood up. He walked out the door and down to the beach. He had been trying to forget over the past few days since Bella's wedding, but he never could. So, he locked it away in a dark recess of his brain, where, hopefully, he would never have to think about it again.

He was never that lucky, just being near this beach again brought the memories back, as clear as if he were standing there.

Say it ain't so

Your drug is a heartbreaker

Say it ain't so

My love is a life taker

He had once told her the bloodsucker was a drug to her. He was and she couldn't give enough and she couldn't stop. Jacob loved her and he was there for her when Edward wasn't. He didn't leave her, but she still chose him. That's when he decided he needed to leave.

I can't confront you

I never could do that

Which might hurt you

Try and be cool

When I say

This way is a waterslide

Away from me

That takes you further

Every day

So be cool

He ran, no longer able to be around her or anything that reminded him of her. Plus he thought being around would just hurt her.

He tried to leave his human self behind, but that didn't work, nothing ever did. His thoughts kept going back to Bella. Every mile he went away, he knew he would have to turn back at some point. He knew he needed to see her, couldn't live without her.

He went back.

Say it ain't so

Your drug is a heartbreaker

Say it ain't so

My love is a life taker

Dear Daddy,

I write you

In spite of years of silence

You've cleaned up

Found Jesus

Things are good or so I hear

This bottle of Steven's

Awakens ancient feelings

Like father, stepfather

The son is drowning in the flood

After the wedding he went back to his father. Ready to apologize, to recite a speech about needing to get away, to find himself, and about how sorry he was he didn't call. Turns out it wasn't necessary, his father didn't ask a single question. It was almost as if he knew exactly why Jacob had disappeared.

But he couldn't. No one knew why he had run. Only Bella could have figured it out. Bella. His mind lingered on her for a minute before another part of it told him to get a grip. That he'd never see her again, at least never as a human, and he needed to except that, but he just couldn't.

Bella wouldn't die. And if she did, he'd make sure the bloodsucker paid for it.

Say it ain't so

Your drug is a heartbreaker

Say it ain't so

My love is a life taker

Say it ain't so

Your drug is a heartbreaker

Say it ain't so

My love is a life taker
