"Good morning." Dr. Jenkins said.

"Come for me to remind you how much I hate your guts?" the Randall Boggs asked.

"Don't you get tired of insulting us?" Lt. Barker asked

"Aren't you tired of holding me here?" the reptile said and glared at the human.

Dr. Jenkins slowly shook his head, not in reply Randall's question, but at his attitude.

Lt. Barker opened the small sliding door and set down a black box on the ledge on the inside of Randall's holding room.

Each side of the box was about four by four inches long. It was black, and each side side had a gold plate on it, each with it's own different, intricate carvings.

Randall crossed his arms, "Just what I've always wanted."

"It's a puzzle box." said Jenkins, "Solve it, and we'll let you go."

Randall stopped glaring. "How do I know you're telling the truth?" he asked.

"We have bigger problems than you." answered Jenkins.

"Like a stupid puzzle box?" Randall scoffed.

"You haven't given us any information. We don't have to give you any." answered Barker.

Randall looked at the box. He felt drawn to it, and as much as he didn't want to humor his captors, he wanted freedom more. And revenge. What harm would a little puzzle be, anyway?

Jenkins and Barker watched Randall as he walked over to the box and picked it up. As he looked the box over, one of his fingers pressed in a gold circle on the side of the puzzle. The circle slid into the box and then about half of the box slid upward. Suddenly a bolt of blue electricity came out of the box and jumped to Randall's hand. Surprised, Randall jumped, although he didn't feel any pain or jolt.

Barker swallowed as he and Jenkins kept their eyes on the box.

The raised half lowered and Randall turned the box so that the side with the large gold circle was facing up. Randall slowly ran his thumb around the edge of the circle, which then raised up along with half of the box in slices. The raised part of the box rotated no more than sixty degrees then sank back down into the rest of the box.

Without warning, black chains with fishhooks on the ends, came out of what seemed to be nowhere and attached themselves to Randall making him scream in pain, one on each of hands and feet, and one on each side of his face. The chains pulled his limbs outward, lifting him up in the air.

Suddenly there was a bright flash and standing there was a pale faced man in black clothing. He had a grid of cuts on his head, and at each intersection there was a metal pin stuck in his skin.

"Shit, it's true!" Barker exclaimed as he reached for his side arm and aimed at the pin-headed man. Pinhead turned his head toward Barker and chains came and hooked themselves to his hands, pulling his arms outward as he screamed.

Dr. Jenkins stood in terror as Pinhead spoke in a deep, ominous voice, "You will come with me."

"But I haven't done anything!" Jenkins protested.

"The two of you were looking for me, you have found me. Now you must taste the pain and the pleasures I have in store for you."

"If it's them you want then, ugh, let me go!" Randall shouted.

Pinhead stood in front of him and spoke, "No, you have just the soul I need."
