a/n: Hello people! im Felicia Kirkland it's nice to meet you. this is my first fan fiction so im a little nervous he-he. please go easy on me and any pointers would be greatly appreciated! thank you all so much. Enjoy.

Id always been alone. Through out my existence I had always been by myself. Sure I had many people around me some who thought themselves my friends. No friends, merely pawns in the game of life and I was loosing.

Blood ran down tousled auburn hair matting it to the side of her head. Limping and clinging to life by a couple of threads she walked towards the house. The house was safe, warm. Yes she had to make it to the house.

The game, I learned, was never easy. One wrong move and suddenly your that much closer to loosing. I've grown so weary of this game. Flashes of mused blond hair and striking green eyes haunt me. Accompanying them are images of a warm house. Love, safety, such kind feelings were easy to feel there.

She stumbled and winced the dirt from the ground mixing in with the sweet crimson liquid flowing from a large gash across her stomach. Getting up on shaky legs she continued her journey. The journey for the place she knew was safe. Safe from them.

My mind tortures me so with these images. I know to remember and dwell means weakness and that means death. In this twisted game of chess I'm so close. So close to that last checkmate. But that is only an illusion now. For now waiting in the darkness is the opponent. He is only waiting for his next turn. I can feel those cunning and dangerous blue eyes watching me. Calculating every move I make.

Her eyes focused ahead of her. But she knew better than to look back to look around. Because she knows that if she does she'll see them. Crystal blue eyes that have followed her since the beginning. She looked and saw it in the distance. Safety.

So close I am to winning but we both know he won't stop. For this game was never in my favor he controlled them perfectly. My own players turned against me without even realizing it.

Tears ran down dirt covered cheeks. Bloody hands not bothering to wipe them away. Safety was so close. Oh the warmth she could feel it now. Warm arms wrapped around her in a comforting embrace. Stumbling she fell and hissed at the jarring of her body on impact. Stretching her arms in front of her she dug her fingers into the ground in front of her and dragged herself forward. Only a little farther…

I'm so tired of this. The house isn't much farther im so close. Oh Arthur my love please understand. I've grown so desperate just please help.

She crawled up the steps leading to the front door and managed to get up on shaky legs. She reached bloody fingers towards the door bell.

I'm so close just a little farther. I can do this! Her finger an inch away, freedom within her grasp, the last checkmate.

Hello Poppet~

She froze slowly turning and facing him. Terrified brown met gleeful blue. Then she knew. Knew that she wouldn't win. It had come. Check Mate Love.

The sound of the door bell rang through the house. Arthur looked up from his book and sighed. Now what? He walked to the front door and opened it. Hel…. He froze there on his door step was a puddle of blood. Oh god! He went to shut the door and screamed. OH no no-no! Written in wet red letters was this.

Check Mate~
