Remus slowly opened his eyes to see sunlight streaming in through the blinds and filling up the room. He stretched his body slightly, wincing at the dull ache in his muscles. Last night had been a rather wild night, no thanks to a certain Animagus who now shared his bed…
"Padfoot, wake up. It's almost nine in the morning now."
The tuft of black hair under the covers hardly stirred. Remus nudged the sleeping form under the bed sheets. "Come on, Pads. I still have to tidy up this mess."
"Too sleepy," mumbled a voice from under the covers.
"Well, I'm not surprised. After what happened last night…" Remus could suddenly feel his cheeks growing hot.
"It's all your fault. Never share a bed with a werewolf," the sleepy voice muttered.
"Oh, really? And who was the one who got me drunk with Firewhiskey and then dragged me into my room and jumped on me?"
"You didn't say no."
"I now realize that was a big mistake." Although that was what he said, the truth was he didn't mind one bit. He sighed as he got up and threw on a bathrobe hanging from a nearby chair (Merlin knows how it got there). "I'm going to make some hot chocolate. Just don't throw up on my bed, okay?"
There was no answer from the now snoring person on the bed. Remus shook his head and headed downstairs into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate. For most people it was a cup of coffee that woke them up in the mornings, but for him it was hot chocolate. He finished making the drink, then carefully carried it up to his room and sat on his side of the bed, sipping his hot chocolate.
The sleeper on the other side of the bed finally consented to waking up and sitting up in bed while ruffling his messy hair in a way Remus found endearing. "I think I'm finally awake."
"Good. I don't plan on you sleeping here until noon anyway."
"Must you be so mean, Moony?" Sirius sniffs the air for a moment. "Hot chocolate. Nice."
"I usually drink a cup every morning. Helps wake me up. Sort of like how caffeine is to most people."
"I for one will never understand how caffeine is supposed to keep people awake. I've tried drinking them while studying for O.W.L.s and I still end up falling asleep anyway." Sirius eyed the mug in Remus' hands. "Mind if I share your drink?"
"I dunno…" Remus relented on seeing Sirius' puppy-dog eyes. "Oh, fine. Here."
"Thanks." Sirius took the mug and sipped it while still sitting up in bed. He then passed it back to Remus, who held it in his hands. "Well, I'm heading to the bathroom to wash up a bit. I can't go out looking all groggy like this."
"Sure, no problem." Remus watched as Sirius started to get up, then stopped suddenly. "What?"
"I almost forgot something." Sirius turned around, leaned over and pressed his warm lips to Remus'. They tasted of hot chocolate and a slight trace of the Firewhiskey of the night before. "Good morning." He grinned before getting up and disappearing into the adjoining bathroom.
Remus' bemused expression quickly turned into a smile. "Good morning to you," he replied as he got up and placed the mug of hot chocolate aside on the bedside table. Then he turned to the window and opened the blinds, letting the soft sunlight of a new morning fill the room.
I dreamed this up during one morning in English class when I wasn't paying attention to the teacher and chewing on my pencil while gazing out of the window at the sun shining on the school grounds outside. Kinda funny how a story hits you when you least expect it, right? Anyway, I haven't been writing Wolfstar for a while, so forgive me if this is a bit short. Reviews are appreciated!
