The Castle onion

Peaceful, not really knowing what do shooting him and/or throwing him to the sharks. They were all thoughts Kate Beckett had about her sometime partner best selling novelist Richard E. Castle.

There were some other thoughts about Castle as well, but she reserved (some of) those for certain conversations with best friend Lanie Parish M.E.

Beckett let her thoughts drift. Oh sure, she was indeed very used now to having him pulling her pigtails and he did make her job more fun with his rather absurd theories from time to time. But there was also something else.

He had been in dangerous situations with her, something she swore she would prevent. And all of them knew he could shoot. Despite her feelings for him, Kate Beckett now felt life had also thrown her a case all of her own her way, the Castle case.

Oh, Kate Beckett knew all about her favorite author now. She knew about his mother, his daughter, his poker buddies and some other stuff, like his gargantuan loft. But she didn't really know much else.

There was Kira Blaine though, by his own admission she was 'the one that got away.' But that wasn't what got Katherine Beckett pondering. It was what Kira Blaine had said " You and me on the roof, me stuyding and you with your little black book."

There, it was there.

Castle couldn't always have been a writer, and that was the start she could use, to peal his onion.

" Castle?"

" Yes detective?" he was busy in his little black book again.

" What did you do before you got published?"
