Pietro's eyes rushed the horizon, flying every which way in desperation, as his feet hit the pavement in a frenzy. No one could outrun the Speed Demon, not when he was really trying, not since his power manifested. Before that was a different story. He was never fast enough, he could never outrun the only person it mattered.
Quicksilver sneered, now he was the one giving chase, he was the one with the power. A streak of red caught his eye, interrupting his plots of revenge and he effortlessly changed directions, heading for the still figure standing in front of an old barn. He wondered what the young man was doing in a tiny Kansas town in the time it took to circle around the barn four times. He skid to a stop, expecting a look of surprise or of fear at his sudden appearence, but instead the mutant found himself alone. At the tap on his shoulder, he flew around, eyes livid with rage.
"Looks like Petey's got some new shoes, and they look just my size." With that a red swirl wrapped around Pietro, knocking him around at all sides, and before the Speed Demon could gather his senses, he found himself face first in a mud puddle.
"Aw, Petey fell down." Before the maniacal laugh even reached Pietro's ears, his head was pulled back roughly, his silver hair wrapped around his assailant's merciless fingers. "Back on your belly again? Well, I'll be taking those sneaks now. That is, unless you can stop me. Think you can stop me Petey?"
Quicksilver grabbed the arm connected to the fingers in his hair and pull the body it was attached to over his shoulder, flinging it into the mud. He smirked widely as his blond adversary coughed and spat out the mud that had made its way into his throat.
"If you want my shoes Wally, you're gonna have to catch me first." With that, The Speed Demon shot across the field of corn. He stopped and turned back, he had only time to see Wally's face before he was knocked to the ground once again, this time pinned under the blond man's foot.
Pietro squirmed and wriggle as best he could, but somehow his shoes were still taken off his feet and within a moment, the pressure on his chest was gone. He lifted his head to growl and snarl at the man now holding his favorite pair of sneakers. The boy in red had the new shoes on his feet in a split second, and Quicksilver could do nothing but stare.
"Didn't you get the memo Petey? The name's Flash now." The red blur flew across the field, past the wheat and through the forest before Pietro even pulled himself up into a sitting position.
"Everyone's a freakin' mutant," the Speed Demon murmured to himself, disgusted with the state of array his clothes had taken. He then began his long trudge back to New York, feeling as if more than just his sneakers had been taken away from him that day.
A.N.
In response to the inquiries of the different names for Flash...in the Smallville series Bart has multiple aliases and one of those is Wally West, which is the name he goes by in JL/JLU so it made sense to me for Quicksilver to know Bart by a different name sense they knew each other from another life (before activated powers). Hope that clears up the issues a lot of you readers are addressing me with.
AN 7/9/13
In the fifth episode of season four of Smallville, entitled "Run", Bart Allen carries around indentification of Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, and Wally West, the three Flashes in the main DC Universe. I am not screwing up and mixing around the comic book characters.
