Prologue

It had been weeks, months, since she'd seen him. He would be so pleased when he saw how rewarding her training had been. How advanced her skills now were. Arisa traveled steadily through the forest to her tribes den in the South. The thought of the one she loved in the forefront of her mind to keep her going.

When she finally got there she was greeted by her clans people warmly though his was the only smiling face she couldn't find among the crowd. The female wolf demon asked around and no one had seen him. She searched for her best friend, Takari who also seemed to be absent.

She caught their scents together heading away from the cave and decided they must have set out together to greet her before she arrived at the den but had somehow missed her. She followed their mixed scents. They led her deep into the surrounding forest.

As she was looking around for her friends a male wolf dropped out of a tree in front of her. He had bright red eyes and wild hair that grew to the middle of his back and was so white it seemed to sparkle and glow in the sunlight. The fur pelt and vest he wore were also white and showed off his well sculpted muscles. His usual smirk was as ever present on his handsome face in it's usual place under his bright red piercing eyes.

"Hey, Arisa." He said moving close to the startled girl.

"Oh...Rienmaru...It's just you." He placed his hands on the girls hips and pulled her closer.

"Aw...you haven't been away that long..call me Rie..like you always do." He said nuzzling the crook of her neck causing her to blush.

"I'm so glad you're back..."

"I missed you too..." She said.

"Have you seen Takari around anywhere?" She said looking around his broad shoulders. He took his fingers and gently turned her face to his.

"Why worry about her right now? You're back...I'm here...all we need to worry about is us..." As he was moving his lips closer to hers Arisa caught another's scent on his breath.

"No..." She said seconds before his lips touched hers.

"What?" She recognized the scent. As she stepped away a puzzled look came across the male's face.

"Ari-chan...what's wrong?" He took a step toward her.

"No...Rie..how could you..." She breathed.

"What's wrong with you?"

"The scent on you...it's..it's..."

"Rienmaru! Where did you go?" Came a voice who's body came into view as she emerged from the bushes. It was Takari as Arisa had suspected, and she was just fastening her armor as she came into view. From the tousled look of her hair it seemed as though she had recently engaged in recent "energy consuming" activities. She was shocked when she saw Arisa and froze in her tracks. The scent of Rienmaru coming from the girl was so strong that Arisa could smell it standing those thirty feet away that she was.

"Arisa...its..not what it looks like- -"

"It never is, is it?" She said the sadness evident in her face.

"It was just..."

"I know what it was...I wasn't coming around fast enough for you...so when I left you found someone who would." She said bluntly.

"And now that I'm back you just expect me to take this and welcome you back with open arms..." At this he was smiling. Actually smiling.

"I'm so glad you understand. You're taking this a lot better than I thought you would..." He said stepping closer to her once again. Arisa snarled at his audacity but this did not put him off. When he got close enough she backhanded him hard enough that her claws left four long gashes across his cheek.

"You pig! I don't believe you! And you..." She said rounding on Taikara who jumped.

"I never want to see you again...either of you! You wanna screw her so bad Rie then by all means be my guest!" She said before running off into the forest.
