Preface.

The sky was shining a beautiful shade of blue; to dark to be sky blue but to light to be ocean blue. Surprisingly, it wasn't rainy so the sun was glowing brightly. Nothing was shining through the forest though, so it seemed dark and cryptic. If it weren't for the birds happily chirping I would have been scared.

I continued on my way through the forest, wary of the dark shadows casting near bushes and trees. Roots and sticks stuck out of the ground so I tripped every minute or so. I wasn't really sure where I was going but it would be better then where I was before.

I continued through the forest then came into a wide field, filled with green knee-high grass and colorful flowers. In the middle of the field was a humongous tree. I plucked a flower off the ground and smelled it. It smelled sweet, like how apples tasted, and was a snowy white. I put the flower in my hair, behind my ear. I looked back up at the tree and got lost in its beauty. The tree was an old sycamore and it must've grown irregularly because the trunk was all twisted. It looked easier to climb to the branches like that.

I dropped my back-pack and lifted myself onto the trunk. I followed the trunk up to the branches and then grabbed a sturdy one. I looked down. Bad idea. I gulped loudly then looked back up, into the ancient tree. Branches were decorating the tree and the sky seemed to be invisible. Leaves were everywhere, red, yellow, and brown. I hoisted myself up onto another branch and kept on climbing up, without looking down.

When I reached the last branch possible I sat on it and looked ahead of me. I could see the horizon. The canopy the trees made was so magnificent, and I could see bird flitting around too.

I wonder what below me looks like…

I looked down below and almost fainted. I was up so high! I breathed in and out deeply to calm down and after a few minutes I felt my body relax. The sun was setting, so I couldn't spend that much time here.

I looked out into the sky and sighed, feeling the wind blowing through my hair. I looked for a branch that I could hold onto ad after finding one I stood up and let one foot try to find the branch that was under the one I was standing on. I got a firm grip on it and put all my weight on it. I proceeded to slide down and I was doing pretty well. Then I heard something rustling above me. I panicked, looking up, and lost my balance.

I felt myself falling backwards. It was like slow motion, and I was waiting for the person you play the trust exercise with to catch me. But it never came…

A/N:

Another new story :DD.

I feel creative today!

So read and review if you want to.

The title of this story comes from the song "Boats and Birds" by Gregory and the hawk.

I don't own Twilight or any of SM's characters, and I never will. This is my disclaimer for the rest of the story.

I probably am going to update on my other story today, Beautiful Disaster. If you haven't heard of it go check it out! Maybe review?

Oh and after today I probably won't be updating for a while...and by a while I mean a long time:/
