The monstrous wyvern crashed through another building, sending rubble, bricks, and chunks of concrete onto the surrounding streets. Pedestrians ran in terror as the green-scaled dragon took to the skies, showering much of the district with a hail of fire.

The Rathian let out a roar whose impact shattered multiple skyscraper floor windows. The monster swooped down on a car, nearly crushing it with its talons. The couple inside dove out onto the street before having their car lifted several miles into the sky. The monster gained altitude before releasing the car from its vice-grip, and as it fell toward the earth, the rathian opened its mouth and let loose a fireball, exploding the car once it got near enough to the city below. The blast impact blew out the side of a nearby bank.

A large chunk of another building collapsed from the structure, while below, a young couple had taken cover from the monster's onslaught. Suddenly, a couple of blurs appeared out of nowhere, saving them from being crushed within just seconds.

The blurs turned out to be people. One was a thin, lean, dark-skinned young man whose afro danced in the wind. The other was a hefty, muscular young man whose two prominent, blond bangs draped over his forehead.

"Thank God! Hunters!" someone exclaimed.

The Hunters' organic, body-hugging armor barely glistened in the midday sun, absorbing most of the light that hit it, rather than reflect it and make an easy target.

The bigger one looked down to his afro'ed companion. "Another rathian. You up for this, Soul? How're your injuries?"

Soul didn't want to lie to his comrade, but he didn't want to leave him hanging out to dry either. The hammer that hung on his back weighed him down a bit and took strength to pick up and swing, but it was a dire situation.

"I'm fine, Spirit. Let's go"

Spirit let a grin cross his face as his helmet automatically folded back over his head. He then reached up behind his back and fondled the hilt of his greatsword.

"I'll see you up there," he said, his voice now almost robotic, and with that, leapt into the air.
