A Simple Touch
By: Jenice Coffey
I
t amazes me that something simple as the smallest touch can calm Battousai within me. Battousai is always there waiting, watching. Wanting a chance to emerge and spread his chaos to those I love, but she is here and her gentle touch brings me such joy that it cages the manslayer within me.She knows not what her touch dose. Her accidental brushes and her bountiful hugs makes the urge to protect her all the more stronger. I need to always be the calming force in my life. This need has forced me to watch her at night when she sleeps. Always protecting her, always leaving before she wakes. She must not know how I feel. That would be cruel.
Soon, very soon I must leave her in order to protect her and Japan. I vow to do whatever it takes to come back to her, to make her happy. No doubt my absence will distress her. I love her. I finally admit that to myself now. I wish I could tell her, but I can't. Not yet. Not now that I am leaving. For now, I am content with her simple touches that I will carry with me to Kyoto.
When I come back, I will make you mine Kaoru, but you were always mine from the moment we met. You just don't know it yet. Or maybe you do
