I ran down the hallway following David. His plane was about to leave in ten minutes, and we were at least five until we got to the gate. As much as I didn't want him to leave, I didn't want him to miss his plane. We were exactly two minutes away from the gate.

"Faster David! I can keep up." I yelled.

I saw him nod and he immediately picked up his running pace. Luckily for us, we reached the gate with only minutes left until the plane took off. He stopped and held me tightly in his arms. I wrapped my arms around his waist and tried to keep my throat from tightening up. He loosened his grip and once I did the same, he kissed me quickly then let go of me completely.

"I love you so much Liz." He said with a strange tone.

"I love you too." I said.

"I promise to call you as soon as I land okay? Be good." He said kissing my forehead.

"Alright."

He took his bag and walked over to the desk. When he finished, he stood where the hallway was that lead to the plane then looked back at me. He waved and told me that he loved me. The only that I could do was wave back. The words that I wanted to say were in my head, but I couldn't seem to pronounce them correctly. I stood there and watched him until I couldn't see him anymore. I could hear someone behind me but I didn't want to turn around. Instead, I stayed exactly where I was.

"Are you okay?" It was Lupe, David's mom.

I nodded.

She took hold of my shoulders and turned me to face her. "If you cry its okay, if you don't cry, that's okay too. If you don't want to cry because you're afraid of what I'm going to think, I could care less if you cry. If you do, then that means that David can pick a good girlfriend."

Once she said that I began to cry.

"Good, now I know that David has a girlfriend that cares about him." She said giving me a hug.

I laid my head on her shoulder and wiped any tears away before they landed on her shirt. She laughed, loosened up on the hug, and then smiled.

"Don't worry about getting tears on my shirt okay? The girls have cried on my shoulders many times before." Lupe said with a warming smile.

"I know, but it just seems strange that your son's girlfriend is going to leave tear marks on your shirt." I told her.

"It's okay," she said putting her arm around me. "I'll take you home in David's car okay?"

I nodded and followed her down the hallway. When we reached the lobby, I had Jazzy, Amber, and Claudia staring at me. I walked over to them and was sucked into a group hug. Daniel came up behind me and filled the tiny gap between his two sisters. I could hear Jeff and Lupe laughing in front of the group. We all looked over and Jeff was smiling.

"You're part of the family now." He laughed.

"It's weird in a way, No offence." Daniel said.

"Um, none taken?" I said with a confused tone.

"We all followed Lupe and Jeff down the last hallways that lead to the exit. I looked up at the screen with all the information about the planes and immediately spotted David's. There was a time, gate number, and a little red line next to it that said "departured."
