Harry Potter and Hermione Granger were walking around the lake. They weren't talking, just admiring nature. Hermione looked up at the sky. Gray clouds covered the sun, making everything look dreary. But with Harry by her side, it didn't seem as bad as it normally would.
"It's going to rain." she said, frowning at the sky.
Harry glanced up.
"Yeah." he said.
They continued walking, not caring if it rained or not.
Suddenly there was a clap of thunder. The two of them looked up as it began to drizzle. Hermione laughed. She stuck out her tongue, catching a drop on her it. Harry laughed with her. When they finished laughing they were both breathless. They stared at each other for a moment, then Hermione walked forward, putting her arms around Harry's neck. He wound his arms around her waist. They kissed, for the first time. Just then it began to pour. Thunder rumbled above as they got drenched. Their faces were dripping within a second. Hermione smiled against Harry's lips. They pulled back laughing, then started to kiss again.
At that moment Ron walked around the corner of building. He had been coming to show them something, but he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw them. He stood in the rain, feeling pathetic because he thought that Hermione actually liked him. He had been horribly mistaken. His shirt was soaked through, but he didn't care, because his heart had just broken into a million pieces.
