He didn't want to feel this way. I mean Morgana his best friend. The one who was constantly teasing him and questioning his ethics. She was never happy with anything he did. Nope. She would tell him he was better then Uther and in the same breath she would tell him how to run the kingdom. Because obviously he had no heart, or moral judgment to do it right. And then there was Gwen. In some respects Gwen was a lot like Morgana. He first realized his love for Gwen when she insulted him no less. Wait a minute that should have been his first clue. Maybe he just liked women who stood up to him. Although he had never known any women that wouldn't. Their must be a group of 'tell the prince what to do cause he's wrong' women. Well he hoped that wasn't true. At any rate Gwen had Lancelot now. He knew that Lancelot had tried to leave so he wouldn't be in the way, but ultimately that had blown up. And to be honest he hated him for it. So much for honor. But he had moved on from that and to the next girl to insult him.

He remembered exactly how it had happened. He was being suited up in armor. Merlin taking his good all time to get it done as usual. He was getting ready to challenge Lance to mortal combat. An ultimate fight for a woman. 'Thinking back on it he had probably gone a *little* overboard'. But never mind that, the point is that Morgana came in to talk him out of it. She had told him he was acting childish and stupid. And she wouldn't leave till he promised that he wouldn't go through with it. As usual she won that verbal combat. But as she was yelling at him he kind of started noticing her more. I mean she was stunning when she was angry. And she had the spunk to stand up to him and tell him he was utterly wrong. Plus he had always been attached to her. They grew up together. It definitely wasn't love at first sight but there was something there now. Granted it could just be rebound from Gwen but who cares? It was something he wanted to explore. So the only question was how to go about that without it being awkward.
