I do not own Harry Potter or any of the amazing characters from the series. Everything belongs to J.K Rowling.

"She's been missing since Friday and you're not worried?"

"Why should I be?"

"Not even the slightest?"

"The only thing I'm worried about is if the batty old witch comes back."

"You don't really think that, do you?"

"I hope she never comes back."

"She's our mother! How could you think that?"

"When has she ever been a mother to either of us?"

"Well…maybe. She's not the best mother but she's the only we've got. Though it may not mean much to you but I don't fancy the idea of losing her."

"At her wake, I'd be the first there. I'd even dance on her grave, dressed in her finest robes and jewelry, of course. We both know she cares more about that rubbish than us."

"Life would be insufferable with father."

"That lousy git would be better off without her! Yeah he probably be sodding all over the place for a little while but in the end things would be better. You know how mum is, always insulting him and making fun of him in front of his friends and our family. It's embarrassing and emasculating. If someone offed poor old mummy they would be doing this family a favor."

"You're wrong. Things wouldn't be better!"

"Not for you, huh? You'd miss mummy? You don't really care about the old bat. You just wouldn't have anyone to fawn over you. No one to call you their perfect little Slytherin prince, eh? Isn't that right?"

"You're wrong!"

"If mother dies, there would be no more punishments that leave your body shaking and trembling for days after. No more talks about being a disgrace, about Gryffindor, about mudblood friends or joining that murderer. And most of all- no more pitting us against each other. And you say you want her back?"

I've always wanted to write a short story with just dialogue and this is what I came up with. This shortie is supposed to alleviate the blockage that I'm dealing with. Fingers crossed! Hope you enjoyed it!
