There were pizza boxes and half-full liters of soda dispersed throughout the main room. The soft upholstery of the couches was already tainted in crumbs. However, the apartment was still nice. Lex Luthor was pretty generous monetarily. It was high-end and cozy, but there remained one problem.
"So…two bedrooms?" Virgil asked apprehensively.
"Hai," Asami replied.
"Well…It's time for me to sleep. So what're the sleeping arrangements?" Eduardo asked impassively.
"Sam could have her own room I guess. I'll sleep on the couch," Tye answered.
"Tye-kun..?" Asami protested gently. The other guys had no argument, however, each of them gathering their duffels and heading towards their rooms. Last to leave, Asami gathered her duffel. She passed by Tye, gently touching his shoulder as she passed.
"Domo."

Her eyes shot open; there was a burning, swelling pain in her chest. She looked at her surroundings through crimson glass: Reach pods. Small mechanical arms nipped at her chest, sparking her every few seconds.
"Tasuke! Help! Help me! Tasuke.." Her screams ripped from her throat, warm tears cascading her cheeks. Her fists hammered against the glass to no avail. All she saw was red. Her chest burned and, before her, her friends were also podded.
"Tasuke..tasuke.." she thrashed underneath her sheets, jaw clenched and eyes shut tight. She sat up hastily, fingers clawing the mattress and breaths frenzied. There was a shadow cast from the doorway, a silhouette carved in front of the light.
"Sam…you okay?" Tye asked gently, concern laced in his voice.
"Hai…hai. Domo. Sorry for the bothering, Tye-kun," Asami sighed, not making eye contact.
"No bother. Ok, glad you're ok. Bad dream?"
"Hai."
"Sorry…I get those too."
"O…sorry," Asami breathed slowly, empathetically. "They are no good. Sorry you have them also…"
"Not your fault. Good night, Sam."
Tye smiled half-heartedly, beginning to turn to head out the door.
"Tye-kun. Wait..?"
Tye pointedly turned back to face Asami, his hand on the threshold of the wooden door.
"Can you…hm…with me..? Stay…? Is that word the correct?" Asami asked gradually, fiddling with her thumbs.
A warm blush spread across Tye's cheeks quickly, his eyes wandering timidly. He was unsure if this request was as affectionate to Asami as it was to him or if it was platonic. He idly made small circles with his thumb on his arm, cheeks still flushed with colour. He then caught Asami's gaze and smiled softly.
"Sure, Sam."
Tye carefully and silently made his way to the disheveled bed. Minutes later, the two teen runaways were nestled together under fluffy down blankets and tranquil slumber. The two were entwined in each other's concern and care; platonic or not, they were an imperative part of each other's recovery and new life. Together.
Numbly and drearily, Asami smiled. Small shadows of words slipped her lips, "No more nightmares."
